So I probably should have watched this before removing the CV joint.

Was there a clip like the one at 1:20 hiding in the grease I was supposed to remove before breaking out the big hammer? I found a clip, but without the bits to squeeze apart. I'm not sure if they...
Well, picked up a new boot from a motor factors who're open late, it was the plasticy type not a rubbery one. The driveshaft came apart ok with a few smacks from a big hammer and the boot went on ok. However the driveshaft seems to have grown a couple of inches in the process so I think I've...
A new genuine one sounds sensible if they're that easy to fit. The hubs off the car already so I take it the drive shaft just pulld out without losing any gearbox oil? Do you know if there's anywhere I could buy one online or over the phone as I'm not going to be able to get to the dealers...

I'd have a read of this page: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/AdviceOnBuyingAndSellingAVehicle/DG_4022402
There's some useful advice on there. No idea on prices though :D.
My 182 has also been doing this the last couple of weeks! It's kind of like the first time I hit the brakes after pulling away there is no vacuum assist. Not nice when your not expecting it.
It does that if it detects a door/bonnet/boot still open. Mine did it until I took the little rubber boot off the sensor that detects if the bonnet is open. Seems odd but it's stopped doing it so I'm happy.
I'd guess there could be a fault with one of the switches that detects an open door?
I have the exact same issue, destructive misfire on no 3 and exhaust gas temp warning light. Also a bit of a rattle but I'm not sure if that is related? I've had the HT leads and coil replaced, to no avail so far. Did you find the cause in the end?
