Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has started making a rear dogbone mount for the Megane 225 engine and gearbox conversion for a MK2 Clio yet?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Rob.
UPDATE:
Progress is stupidly slow still, I never seem to get time with work and family time taking priority.
Anyway megane lump and box have been in the bay for a while, I’ve sourced all the parts I need. However I still can’t get the engine and box to sit correct. So instead of wasting time...
UPDATE:
Progress is slow, Megane engine and gearbox is hanging in the bay now, cant seem to get the engine sitting correct though, used some spacers under the gearbox mount which has helped but still not good enough for me, also making a rear dogbone mount is being a pain too, just doesn't seem...
Strip down has started, first I removed the dash and started tidying the loom, lots of plugs and wires trimmed down.
Then onto the engine, all boost pipes removed, loom removed, all fluids drained and engine pulled.
Now to take everything I need off the old engine, and then drop the...

Unfortunately on the way home, she started smoking, and running very rough,
Got home, and then compression tested it, and compression was down on cylinder 4... great!
I knew it would happen sooner or later, I did build it around 8 years now. Anyway I seriously lost...

225 head (requires machine work for the pulley)

Oil feed kit
Uprated clutch
Intercooler and pipework
ECU
Custom downpipe

Gave the Turinis a good clean and sealed them, then fitted them, bye Rotas
Also got rid of the recaros and fitted my new seats.
More to come ...

Not updated this in a few years, Life has been busy and the car was left in the garage in pieces. It has gone through a lot of changes, mainly trying to tidy it up and ironing out some teething problems, mainly getting rid of quick fixes and stupid mods such as airbrushing, bad wiring...
I’ve got a project thread on here but I haven’t updated it in years, quite embrassing as it started as a mess and it had all airbrushing under the bonnet, I will update it as it looks different now, however on the way back from trax mine started breathing really heavy and smoking a lot so now...
@Matt555 Don't give up, that's the worse thing you could do, I had loads of problems when I did mine years back, but got it all sorted in the end.
Just take your time make sure you're 100% happy with the new engine and bits you are putting in.
You've done a great build so credit to you! it...
