Yep bargain but as we all know company cars get very hard lifes.
Oh yea its not quicker than an S3 thats just what the mags say, drive both then draw your conclusion.
EVOs like the sun full of boobs :)
Can be a bonus but lets be honest after 2 or 3 yrs of hard driving would you want to buy your company car ??
Though I guess most folk get the opportunity to extend the warranty by another year & purchase at trade.
The R is not a bad car I had one on loan for while just to see what all the fuss was all about.
Its not a bad car & manages to drive just as well as my S3 in the dry.
Brembos are a real bonus, I was surpised though it rolled as much as it did .
Lots of chaps are getting them revod though...
I had the opportunity (well I had to let both of the guys have a go in the caterham which was really scary) to drive the mk1 clio & CTR around the track, must say really not a lot in it though the preferred the talkative steering of the clio & adjustability in setting it for the corners. Driving...
Great devices but with them too many folk drive around (speeding) thinking Im invinceable - I had a colleague who thought the same & got banned.
Thats the problem with them they can make you speed.
Just my input.
mm Stevenage,
I know the town well, one of only a few in herts that did not have any fixed cameras until recently....
The new cameras which are hidden behind a road sign.
I can only hope the speed that you reached was not on that particular stretch.
Its about time that licenses for performance cars were graded like bikes.
Their are far too many novices driving around in performance cars - hence the insurance premiums being so high.
I used to have a golf VR6 quick & comfortable but when you drove it quickly it soon became a nose heavy wheel spinning pig.
Corrado VR6 now your talking.
MK1 very long it the tooth, good in its day but no match (in standard form) against todays hatches.
If war breaks out in Iraq then yes it is likely that the price per barrel will increase & we will be expected to pay more.
Yes Im sure the lorry drivers could blocade the fuel depos again, but the cabinet were incredibly embarassed by what happened last time, and if we do get to this situation...
I think all in all not really that much between the two cars, as we all know driving abilities vary greatly take your average spotty teenager & 70 year old gran - whos gonna win a traffic light granprix mmm difficult that one.
You pays your money you take your choice.
End of story
Even if you do pass him, being hes such a nutter hell pass eventually say when you go through that 30 zone & he screams past at 60.
Yep let him go unless you suffer from cupsize syndrome
Lol what a thread, cupsize what exactly do you mean by toasting Im lost - the cars youve toasted have similar performance - where did this experiment - take place - on the track.
Or did common sense prevail with your colleagues.
Typically a supercharger will give you up to 40% more power a turbocharger up to 70%.
All in all supercharging is much easier / cheaper to do - just watch your mechanicals though - they may not last lol.
Ive a mate with a 325 conv which is putting out @ 270 bhp - quite impressive - low down...
Rob,
The S3 is as I said before a GT car - a luxury sports car.
People dont buy their S3s for performance alone its the overall package, stealth, image, exclusivity & style that appeals.
Please also remember the S3 was launched in Germany in 98 reaching the UK in early 99.
It has hence...
Sounds like Cupsize your best friend is starting to shrink/
Bird - Ill let you call her than Jonny - you ever had a high heel through your cheek bone ?
0-60, 0-100, 60-100 etc etc
Wonderful - mans obsession with numbers, my G/F says its all to do with mans best friend - typically the smaller the greater the obsession
Interesting thread, well im happy with my two cars (& two personalities).
With the extra bhp on the road I think their would not be many cars (If I was daft enough :p- (again to raise to the occasion)) that would give me much bother.
Im not really worried what the S3 is like round (yes I...
