Further progress today with quite a bit removed! running outer of space to store it so it's had to be put back in again! First seat out was the passenger side plus the carpet Then the driver seat, whilst Trev supervises and all done for today Next I need to work out what I can cut...

I think they're 'plastic welded' (if that's the right term) so can't removed. I think the rears can be removed though. You could pop them off (break the 'weld') and then somehow stick them back together again?

Next stage is to fully remove the carpet but I need to jack it up to get underneath to remove the seat bolts (easy job) and then all the plastic from the B pillar forwards. Damn it! I meant to measure the ride height all round to see how the weight loss affects things

Made some progress this weekend. Bearing in mind that I've not really done much like this I'm quite happy with the progress I've made... Not at it was especially taxing! Started with this Progress yesterday And got the rear stripped today (obligatory Magical Trevor on the dash ;) )

Finally got her out of it! It's not worth getting rid, even though I've thought about it a few times. Just going to keep it until it dies but she's been looked after so that might be a while!

I've done a search and I've determined that one of the driveshafts needs replacing. Before I get my hands dirty, how easy will it be to figure out which side is buggered? Do I need to get it up on jacks or can it be done on the ground? I'm in two minds whether to take it to the garage and then...

Using cruise control is worse for fuel economy due to the way in which cruise control is actually constantly adjusting the throttle rather than just keeping it steady (relatively) with your foot. When I've driven the 172ph1 on the motorway it was surprisingly good, I could get 40mpg without too...

I'd quite like one but as my commute is about to jump to 18k miles a year (mainly motorway), I'm not overly convinced that a 200 is really an option. How do you find it on the motorway? Clearly a 'cup' version isn't an option. I'm desperately trying to avoid boring, fuel efficient, sensible cars!
