Thread resurrection - but I'm interested in what you did there as well? Did you use OEM switches?

    Mag1calTrev0r's Black Ph1 172

Got behind the dash today, I won't be taking too much out of the wiring harness but there are a few things like the passenger airbag, stereo and integrating USB cables for my GoPro and Dual XGPS150. I had a Griffin dual-USB cigarette lighter adapter lying around so using the Fubar guide on hard...

bimarco futras - for big men?

Ah, it was the comment about 34inch waist and a 40cm width seat followed by the question about 6cm spare. In that context it seemed like you were finding the 6cm from that (40cm minus 34inch) .... Which would have been silly :D

Further progress today with quite a bit removed! running outer of space to store it so it's had to be put back in again! First seat out was the passenger side plus the carpet Then the driver seat, whilst Trev supervises and all done for today Next I need to work out what I can cut...

    Door card fabric.

I think they're 'plastic welded' (if that's the right term) so can't removed. I think the rears can be removed though. You could pop them off (break the 'weld') and then somehow stick them back together again?

    Mag1calTrev0r's Black Ph1 172

Next stage is to fully remove the carpet but I need to jack it up to get underneath to remove the seat bolts (easy job) and then all the plastic from the B pillar forwards. Damn it! I meant to measure the ride height all round to see how the weight loss affects things

    Mag1calTrev0r's Black Ph1 172

Made some progress this weekend. Bearing in mind that I've not really done much like this I'm quite happy with the progress I've made... Not at it was especially taxing! Started with this Progress yesterday And got the rear stripped today (obligatory Magical Trevor on the dash ;) )

    Mag1calTrev0r's Black Ph1 172

Finally got her out of it! It's not worth getting rid, even though I've thought about it a few times. Just going to keep it until it dies but she's been looked after so that might be a while!

Been a while since anything happened to this, my Wife has retained control of it for the past few years but we picked up a Fiat 500 TwinAir the other day so the Clio is mine again. I'm planning on racing in the Caterham Academy at some point in the next couple of years (probably 2015) so I...

Cheers, I'll get it jacked up. I was hoping for a quite fumble on the floor ;)

How easy to check for play in driveshafts?

I've done a search and I've determined that one of the driveshafts needs replacing. Before I get my hands dirty, how easy will it be to figure out which side is buggered? Do I need to get it up on jacks or can it be done on the ground? I'm in two minds whether to take it to the garage and then...

How is the Clio 200 on the motorway?

I don't know what you're on about :rasp:

How is the Clio 200 on the motorway?

Using cruise control is worse for fuel economy due to the way in which cruise control is actually constantly adjusting the throttle rather than just keeping it steady (relatively) with your foot. When I've driven the 172ph1 on the motorway it was surprisingly good, I could get 40mpg without too...

How is the Clio 200 on the motorway?

I'd quite like one but as my commute is about to jump to 18k miles a year (mainly motorway), I'm not overly convinced that a 200 is really an option. How do you find it on the motorway? Clearly a 'cup' version isn't an option. I'm desperately trying to avoid boring, fuel efficient, sensible cars!

Abnormal juttering when cold - more so than normal

Thanks massively my Squirrely chum. I'm wondering... the location mentioned in your thread is also the location where I'm hearing a rattle when high into the rev range (on occasion). I'm wondering if I'll find something loose around there that also affected the lambda sensor?

Abnormal juttering when cold - more so than normal

When starting from cold my car seems more juttery than normal (I'm aware this is not uncommon). Constant throttle results in uneven power which makes the car seems like it can't make up it's mind between going and stopping. Once warmed up however it's absolutely fine. This seems to have got...

    Trophy A369 towards Bristol today

Spotted a Trophy coming towards Bristol on the A369. I gave a little wave in my 172ph1 but there's obviously no love for 172ph1 owners ;)
