That 1.19 is a great time. Cup cars, mk2 & 3 manage low 1.18's on slicks, i got into 1.17s but i know combe well and got a tow off my mates supacopa Seat all way up avon rise.
so very good skills indeed sir!
I cant wait to get mine rebuilt and come play.
when you come to combe, if anyone needs any bits in a hurry, i live 10 mins away and have a barn full of 2 race clio's in bits. wheels, panels, bumpers, suspension bits.
them walls at combe aint forgiving!
nothing is easy about nascar!
nascar is probably one of the hardest disciplines in circuit racing, the amount of effort to control the cars at the speeds and the constant none stop close racing isn't simple a all, then you have the stratagy of it all, that comes from a great crew chief.
Jaun...
you could get a sequential gear box for about 5k and then come and run in the eurosaloons, thats a very good championship with about 8 or 9 ex clio cup cars all same spec so you get proper good close races.
my car is being rebuilt to be same power/weight as the new cup racers with a little...
Surely it will struggle to shave 20kilo off the wieght. It only dropped 16kilo off the evo.
Not sure what a clio shell weighs.
Guess It could drop 20kilo or more if left in the acid for a prolonged time, but to not Ecoat would be daft as the thing will fall apart in no time.
I had a evo shell i brought once, it had been dipped and then e coated. I had it for 3 years, left it outside uncovered, not a bit of rust other than minor surface rust.
It would rot to bits without the Ecoat. With or without it being painted quickly.
Utter waste of time at club level but...
caster adjustment is the big let down on clio's.
i didn't want to spend the money on the wishbones, so modified the subframe to allow the complete wishbone to move fore/aft giving plenty of caster adjustment.
good thing about those trick wishbones is they're strong and adjustable at same...
The correct oil is Tranself B90 LS. Heavy duty diff oil. Its about 220 quid for 20 litres. I was given a barrel of it when.i brought my cup racer.
I wouldnt use any other box oil personally. But i only do circuit racing in mine.
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
the car goes on the back of the spinter, so for local events/trackdays he just takes it on that with tools. for weekends, he tows the caravan behind the sprinter.
the caravan is nice to retreat to between...

my mate use's a flatbed sprinter to take his car about and on wkend events tows his caravan. he is referred to 'pikey' though.
its gotta be all about these really...

Its all about brand awareness, stick your name on something, people see it.
I have need clue who agency transmissions are but because of tony/jay I know who to use and who to tell anyone who asks me.
Eurosaloons, ma5da, some britcar, some n24, Nippon, vwcup, whatever I have time to be able to do and with work commitments, it isn't much these days.
Our series are usually at least a wkend if not Friday as well, so we have motorhomes to stay in, makes life easier.
If it was a single day...
Oh, I don't expect its too different an approach to ours. None of us are paid professionals or ever will be and a race wknd is only a small about of track time and a lot of social time.......drinking and messing about with the lads is the only way forward.
good video, but i hope that video is intended for potential sponsors,
coz i didn't see 1 single 'dick sucking/wanker sign reference' from any one, not a single shot of any empty or full beer tins. nobody trying to empty a wheelie bin into the car, no one pretending the wheel wrench is a gun...
after a few items for the f4r forged engine build.
the usual stuff,
high comp pistons, wild cams, rods, shells, bolts, valves ETC
which companies supply these items?
seen engine dynamics and the such but never had to buy stuff like that for clio's.
cheers.
Which calipers do you use? We use the oem calipers with the clio cup pads, sure they were minute 1155's. But I could be wrong ,I was given about 20 sets of them.
Never had an issue with them and on slicks they take serious abuse. Mind, we don't brake for copse in the cup cars, slight lift and...
well done on the 3rd place!
the dc5 is circa 3 seconds quicker around a track like brands. what the hell have they done to it? and how much quicker will it be at the longer tracks? the rest of the field all look quite well matched.
talk about gun to knife fight, where is the competition in...
Vw transporter does not return 40mpg!! Not even when empty and driven steady! They're darn good vans though, chap I know has an ex a AA van and really likes it, if he goes down coast in it, with family/surf stuff it and driven about 60average will be low 30s.
Using it as a race transporter once...
Combe is one of the best circuits in the county. The major annoyance is that testing is rarely the Friday before a race meet.
As a circuit it truly sorts the men from the boys, the circuit takes great pleasure in reminding competitors that the 15 foot of grass run off is still not doing much...
