Cars wired engine bay side done, inside is still a bit rough but enough to book the mapping in. its in with efi parts Tuesday the 5th.
due to the ECU being for a clio 197 and us wiring it not 100% sure it will fully function and be fully mapped with power run etc as some of it is guess work but...
well it runs once again! the 12v feed for the fuel pump/coils isnt working for some reason from the ECU but when given a direct feed to both she did actually fire up.
plan is to tidy the loom now properly check the sensors are working speak to SCS around this wire and get it booked for mapping!
that will help, cheers will certainly give it a go. The camber is actually measuring positive on the front at the min but only threw them on quickly so will see if I can adjust the camber bolts on that one.
wiring looks a mess at the min but we are just trying to make sure everythings working...
update time finally!
Driveshaft is back and looks like a work of art very impressed with that. shaft is in and built gear oil replaced so that part is ready to go
stand alone, have decided to go stand alone and have been talking allot to chris at EFI parts. We are going for an SCS delta ECU as...
hes keeping engine, going to be took apart to see whats failed and built back with a spare one he has.
the GHA are ok but then i have nothing to compare to. i run 550 front 650 rear i think from memory
driveshaft is now at the shop being built from scratch, the spares bits that i bought had a...
it deff sounds big end so ill let you know when he strips it!
isalnd flat is not the best idea no, ive seen the crashes there so dont go anywhere near that!
he was, he decided he could take it flat at 125 but turns out you cant. car dug in and went up on its side but luckily came back down! Lesson learnt
heard good things about dave mac shafts, shall give him a shout also
Well Oulton didn't go to plan at all. I have finally found the limits of the shafts!
First session on semis went without hitch had a good run out with a quick super charged BMW can be seen in video below. weather was good so put the slicks on which have been on before a good few times. started...
update time!
was a bit of a rush in the end to get it ready for anglesey on the 16th but just about managed it. Day was a bit of a wash out weather wise so didnt really get to push it all day but car behaved perfectly, no issues which was nice. car just needs a quick check over and good to go...
fibre glass panels all fitted, just need to cut the aero catches in tonight then the wrappers are coming Tuesday/Wednesday. then the putting it all back together begins!
BYC splitter mate bolts to the chassis with his own brackets, nice piece of work think he sells them off the shelf now but not sure how far behind he is after a trip the the USA

it was my car he used to mock...
decided i have had enough of the bonnet having to keep removing it so going back down the standard route. changed mind at the last minute and went for a fibreglass one but hinged from https://ccf-fibreglass.co.uk/ then kinda ended up going the full hog before the wrap so bonnet, doors and...
managed to get the car off the trailer for a check over, slicks all look good so they can go again. Coolant was low but hoping this was due to being warm when filled at track so will keep an eye on that. have taken the plunge and the wrap is half gone so no going back now.
looks so different...
used to do this in the old days of my rs turbo lol but wasn't sure on the effects in Renault world. will have a look at how to re route, all pipes have t pieces and all sorts around that area! cheers Dumdum
Having redone the coolant pipes for the extra radiator or redone the brake servo pipes (failed one way valve) we set out to oulton on the 31st of May with MSV
Looked a busy day and full of race teams testing but actually wasn't that bad and didn't have to queue up once. one of the old megane...
small update, did cadwell park on the 17/04/2018 but only managed to get one video all day, it was set to take a picture not record doh! best lap was at the end of the day with a passenger at 1.45 im happy with that with the brake issue
first time at cadwell with it boosted love the track but...
interesting, ill show this to my wire man he will understand all that as its a bit beyond me I think! but thanks for the info appreciated, not sure if I can unplug the 225 dash as yet as the car likes to see lots of things before it will even attempt to start
cant see why not, was hoping to pick it up from the canbus but doesn't seem to so failing that would go down as an analogue sensor and need calibrating. ill have a look when doing the oil stuff as need to buy an expansion for those anyway
its very practical!
found a bit of a pic of the dash, it is in the middle just a bad angle! only the fuel gauge works on the 225 clocks now rest is done by the aim

not updated in a while so here we go :)
Since fitting the Aim MXS Strada Dash (this is epic by the way) its allowing me to monitor temps much more closely and trigger alarms when things get too high. My main one was water temp. when i did oulton it became apparent it was creeping up high way...
yes 250 engine with a 225 box and gripper diff fitted. the engine isn't a direct fit you need to notch the chassis leg and run custom shafts exhaust etc so possible but much easier to fit it to a 107 clio.
mine now runs a mix of 225 wiring loom with 250 ecu and some magic to make it all work...
fair play to you! bet that is an animal. I have also built a meganed engined clio, now on its 2nd gen with a 250 engine but only running 312bhp and that feels fast so cant imagine what yours goes like!!
well done that man!
it was actually duct tape lol! there is a hole in the splitter where the oil cooler was when BYC designed the splitter so he just cut a hole at the time. we have moved the cooler now and tapped up the hole, but didn't work lol. joiner mate is going to cut me a new one long term as I have cracked...
