    Good point, it hadn’t even crossed my mind that a quaife was an option! I’ve used my grippers on the road, they’re not too bad but definitely can’t push on like you could with a standard car, especially on the roads near me!

    I’ve got my ex 172 cup race car shell that will be available in the next month or so if you wanted a proper project. It’s not rolling but will come with: Subframe Lower arms Rear beam Body panels Windows She’s had a life but with some work could go back on the road, V5 is present.

    Yeah over to the left and up, tighten the rod up and it’s all good. Done both of mine like that over the years. And make sure the gearbox is in reverse also.

    I used a bunjee cord to hold it over in reverse and tighten underneath, never had an issue doing it that way

    The steering wheel is horrendous. The engine cover and injector cover being missing is pretty normal these days, they don’t find their way back on after oil changes.     I imagine the connectors on to the rear lights will be corroded, clean them up and it should fix it unless they’re too far gone.

    Having been in your predicament, deciding to replace it putting it back together and it leaking again after a dyno session, I’m definitely on the side of leave it alone unless it’s pissing out. I was not happy pulling it apart again.

    I agree, but in this case I have the engine out of my race car which i have built and used, it’s also the engine out of this car originally.

    That’s good to know, in my head I was at £2.5k the lot or £4k inc the gearbox. It is standard pistons and rods. Made 248hp when mapped.
