I was messing around on YouTube last night and found some amazing DTM videos from the 80's and 90's, but the soundtrack was awful, so I changed it a bit ;)
The music might not be to everyone's taste, but I prefer it to the original terribleness.
Take a look here:
If anyone else got any...
I think I'll definitely be back in another Clio RS - I love these cars and I'm not finished with them just yet ;)
We'll see how the MR2 Turbo goes when I get one. Knowing me I'll have sold it by this time next year and be in something else. Probably a Clio. I've not had a 197 yet lol :)
Yeah, i think you're right, It's gone for what its worth. I could have stuck it up at a daft price but it would be sat here for ages I suppose. Its a good car and I'll miss it though 😢
Yeah, well, i think i might have underestimated the interest and maybe the value of the car to be fair. But, it seems to be going to a good home, so happy with that. I feel a bit sick that its going now 😊
Haha, of course, I'll do it next time I'm in an appropriate location
And yes, the J&R shafts seem fine to me, the quality of them appears really good too.
@leeds2592 yeah I was in a rush and ended up going to the dealer, but I should have really ordered online to be fair as I ended up have more time to get it done than I thought.
@Chris_Beer the drive shaft was a brand new unit from J&R, perfect fit for the Cup :)
@cs_dave £5k lol
Only joking, I was thinking of putting it up for £2350 elsewhere, but I'd take £2k for it. Belts were done in Jan 15 with proof. mileage is just shy of 88k.
Ok, so new drive shaft installed, along with 3.1 litres of Elf gearbox oil from Renault (£42 WTF!).
But, I've been looking at another car, so this may be up for sale shortly. I'm a bit gutted really as this is by far the best Clio I've owned to date. But, if it goes for the right money, I'll...
Those inner sills look pretty damn good for a 20+ year old Renault! Not bad at all. Good luck and keep at it!
Its funny to think that you can in theory pick up a fair Williams needing TLC for around £3K, but if they need this amount of work, then perhaps the £5/6/7K + price tags on better cars...
Ok, so a small update. I broke something :/
I took the Clio to a local rolling road day:
The Cup made fair power for a pretty much standard 13 year old car, other than breathing mods:
But over the last few days, I noticed a clunking noise from the passenger wheel area. I had a look...
To be fair, it would do my head in if I were using it for work and what not. I do really like it though purely for enjoyment, and I think using it daily would take something away from that enjoyment.
I'll try and post up a vid later if I can.
Yes, i fitted it, i managed to break the manifold to cat spring clamps in the process though, so had to order a new kit from Renault. Real PITA job that!
Then I realised that the rear box exhaust mount was failing badly as the back box was hanging down way too much, so replaced that with a red...
