Just to close this thread and try and give future views more of an idea if their car has similar symptoms, I replaced my water pump after discovering a leak and the problem has seemed to have gone away (touch wood). I've been driving the car for 2/3 weeks now and all is good. I imagine it was...
Sorry, my bad, the one on the left. Its difficult for me to familiarize myself with the axle when it's hanging down like that, if i was under the car I could point it out straight away. It's where I've circled left I believe.
As title says, my car failed it's MOT on an 'Offside rear bonded suspension unit bonding failed and part of unit is likely to become displaced [2.4.F.2]'
The mechanic showed me and I understand what he was saying, but does anybody know how much this would cost to fix? He said it's a specialist...
Interesting, I've just been quoted by a mechanic my Father knows £295 all in, which isn't too bad? Belts, pump, labour etc...
It's a shame you are in Bedford!
Yeh I thought as much, it is a 1.2 yes :P Cheers mate, anyone any idea how much the replacement belt+pump will cost on a 1.2? If not, any idea on labour costs as I could buy the parts? Is it a 2/3 hour job?
I have a leak in the engine bay, drivers side, that I believe to be the water pump. How much would this cost to get replaced all in? Am I right in saying the belt needs to be done as well? I need a few things done on this car so I'm two minds whether to get these things done, part-ex or sell it...
I see, the problem here is that the fault is intermittent... I used to drive to my destination, then it used to fail on me on the return journey... I've driven it around my street on a private road and it seems fine, but can't go any further due to no cover etc... I'm looking to change the...
Ah right I see. Basically a few months ago the car kept going into limo mode, had a new pedal fitted but that only fixed it for 2 weeks or so. I had the codes read which pulled were...
P0136 - O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0225 - TPS/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch C Circuit...
Right I see, they aren't the connectors that would have pins covered though would they? I took a look at them and they're fine!
I spoke to a mechanic friend who works for Honda and he said check the water level first, more than likely the sensors are quite high up in the water so if the water...
Right, took a look today. I'm really sorry about this, but could I ask you guys to be patient, this may be amusing for you but I assure you it's more embarrassing for me lol...
Basically my car goes into limp and has 3 codes stored, if you need more info it can be found here...
All I want to do is check if the glue has got on the pins, after looking at threads I believe it is at the back of the engine like shepperdspie says. There are fuses by the battery but I don't believe the ECU is by the battery on my particular model? I've taken a look and nothing is jumping out...
Noob question, where would I find the ECU on my 2002 Clio 1.2, at the back of the engine I've read but no specific location, what's easiest way to find it?
Thank you and sorry!
Matt
Bump.
I think I'm going to start by changing the lambda sensor that goes into the cat, is that the right one? (Bank 1 Sensor 2?) Silly question but is that called pre or post cat lambda?
Cheers!
That does help a lot thank you! More expensive than I was hoping for but I'll take a look none the less. 'm hoping this isn't the case to be honest with you and it comes down to a lambda sensor or something! How easy is the ecu to get at, where is it placed?
Thanks for you help!
Not working as in you can't see them or they aren't reading? Try resetting them?
Hold the trip button and turn the ignition on, hit the reset button by the clock and turn ignition off, see what happens?
If it's the display, I took my clocks apart, fiddled with the LCD, make sure it's sitting...
I'm back home with the car now as it's Easter. Due to the problems and it's been sat there a while, it no longer has insurance or an MOT so I need to try and do as much as I can myself, if I can't fix it, I'll insure it, take it to a garage for it's MOT and for them to try and fix it, but...
