I can tell you where the extra power has come from. No doubt you've done the power run with the bonnet up. Massive reduces heat soak.
Unless you drive around with no bonnet, try a power run with the bonnet closed. I used to see this regularly in my saxo VTS days.
After all my years of driving / riding, I still to this day do not get where insurance companies get their prices from.

Whilst I agree fully. The way the original statistics were put forward to me, did not reflect how many bikes were on the road vs how many other vehicles. Hence my response using the exact same mindset but quoting a different report.

So; cars are money pits. I don't get why people throw money at cars even though I did it myself when I was young and naive.
My current daily driver has cost me £0 in 7 months of owning it. I hope this continues for the remainder of my ownership.
