Welcome. I went from a 1.2 "easytronic" Corsa to a 182. Best move ever! Not saying that I don't have love for Vauxhall (would have a VXR in a heartbeat) but the Clio is the best value for money as far as pure fun goes!
The standard cat to centre section bracket is rubbish. I ended up buying 2 normal ones before eventually getting a heavy duty clamp which finally stopped it blowing and sagging...
This happened to me in august. Cruise control on doing 70mph on the M1 and a valve snapped. I've had a new engine fitted plus all belts/kits, clutch, water pump etc etc and it runs like a dream. But £1500 is a lot of money I didn't really have!
...One in Ashford at about 7.30am. Followed me down fordbridge road onto the A308 and down the A30 to the M25 junction.
...One sitting on the M25 queing to get onto the M4 about 7.40am.
...Anyone on here?
One this morning (wednesday 7.30am) on the A308 from the crooked billet towards sundbury cross.
One yesterday morning (tuesday 7.30am) going up clockhouse lane towards heathrow.
Anyone on here? Pint?
Mini Clubman 1275 GT. Dad bought this for me when I turned 18 in 1994. Didn't know anything about cars but loved driving and that car was such fun. Had it for a couple of years and then my daft Mum sold it while I was away at University for £100! i'd have it back in a heart beat if I could find...
Well after 4 weeks without my 182 I finally got her back and I'd forgotten how much fun she was!
I've was forced to have a new engine fitted (and by "new" I mean a replacement 55k engine from clio spares - thanks fellas!) as the last one commited suicide by dropping a valve at 70mph(ish) on the...

I'm having a new engine fitted in my 182 due to a dropped valve in my last one.
What I was wondering is this, are there any modifications/upgrades/replacements etc that I should get done while the engines out and the cars in pieces?
Not got much to spend (just had to buy a new engine after...
Ok so I've ordered an engine from Clio Spares.
55k so fewer miles on it than mine had when I bought it last April.
let's just hope my regular garage have no problems fitting it!
Thanks for all the help and advice CS
Here's another company if anyone has any knowledge of.

I had a look on the web and all the positive reviews I found were written on the 4th April 2011. The only review that was not written on the 4th April 2011 was NOT positive! I guess this says it all but wondered if...
anyone had any dealings with these guys?
www.reconditioned-engines.co.uk
they quoted me £1295 for a remanufactured engine fully fitted with a 5 year/60000 mile warranty.
sound almost too good?
Anyone know where I should start looking, how much it's likely to cost, what to beware of when buying a reconditioned engine etc etc.
In fact any comments welcome!
The reason I need a new engine is due to a snapped valve reeking havoc in the internals and lodging in the head.
I'm not happy!
Crossing the A308 from Ashfrod towards Charlton Village around 2.45pm on Sunday. You went past me, I was in the BG 182 turning left at the lights by the BP petrol station.
Bank holiday monday. Nice silver 182 with black wheels and big Cliosport decal on rear window. Made my BG 182 look a bit shabby! Time to refurb my wheels...
