I don't know why I subscribed to this.
Genuinely the only car I regret selling, even with my current 182 and my Toyota Supra I miss this so much :(
I have held off spending anything on the 182 as I know I'll keep comparing it to this and then things will snowball
The one thing I will say is...
Want to swap for a FF 182 I miss this so much I’ve had a lot of cars but regret selling this one the most. I’m back in a clio but it’ll never compare. So many memories in URC too
I think about this car ALL the time. I miss it so much.
It is without doubt the only car I regret selling.
Really glad it’s back in good hands, seems you’re taking care and doing much the same as I would
I want another but I know how much I’d have to spend to get it to drive like that one again
I do indeed, this is a sad day for me! I actually asked the lad that bought it from me to let me know if/when he sold it. I wish I'd known as I'm actually in the position to get another
I spent a lot of money on it when I had it and it's still the nicest one I've driven.
Sounds like it's been...
He still has it @DaveDreads and I still have mine...and now we're housemates...the neighbours don't like us having two Supra's haha.
We completed a 2,000 mile European Roadtrip in it last summer and it was fautless...and EPIC!!!!!
Not much changed spec wise on Rob's, he'sreally just been...
Agreed, 2jz is epic BUT you're talking absolute rubbish when comparing costs I'm afraid mate. 'for about the same price I'd take a 2jz fd over a boosted clio any day of the week'
I don't know what a tidy FD is (complete minus the engine) but I'm guessing they must go for £3k+ ?
Then the 2JZ...
HAHA YES YES YES YES!!!
You're not lying, I have been moaning but for good reason and now CS (almost in it's entirety) has backed me up!!! Silver!!!
The other Matthew is right too though, the brighter the better. When I had mine done they were the brightest and you know they looked the mutts nuts!
Latest update - More bad news - Some nice purchases too though
So last night I made a purchase, a HKS Kansai lip, I deliberated a lot on the Lip for my car and finally settled on this.
The plan is to have it HydroDipped in Carbon Fibre, I don't know how this will hold up but it's worth a try...
Hi Andy, I still remember reading this thread when I was lurking (before I even joined the forum) a few years ago.
Since then I met you (and Le CBR) at a Black Mountain Run and have also seen the car a couple of times at BTM.
I have to say I'm full of admiration not only for the car but also...
Thank you. Do it mate, you will not regret it!
I can verify this (well I tried to watch the boost gauge but was pinned back in the seat haha) and it was a passenger ride in Rob's that made me settle on the same T61.
To be fair the 3.0 straight six has a (relatively) large chunk of torque even...
^ I was literally just about to add that lot to my earlier reasons haha. The NA-T power delivery is like nothing I've experienced before and that was just from the passenger seat :D I can not wait and as Rob says if my engine lets go then it's minimal costs to pop another NA lump in.
Not much of an update today.
I took my headlights
Put them in the oven...that's what ovens are for isn't it?
This softened up the glue allowing me to split the headlights
This means I can refurb the lenses and also "facelift" the insides meaning I'll spray them black other then the...
It's a T61, nothing special but I have a couple of friends who run the exact same one (@rob_sri being one) with great results and reliability.
It's possible that I'll upgrade at a later date but for now it'll do the job
Thanks Philip, the manifold is lovely as are the welds on it, very...
Haha tell me about it, would be nice to have gearbox luck for a change but I actually know this one will fail, the 5 speeds are only good for 450lb/ft or so. Some more/some less but it's generally around there.
Need a 6speed for big power really and at £3.5k for a used box and all the...
I know! Can't wait to start putting my jigsaw back together :D
Thanks for the kind words, I started reading your Turbo 182 thread the other day funnily enough. Will finish that tomorrow night :D
The best update is the NA/T parts have started being delivered though
This arrived today from the States
So we have the Turbo, Intake pipe, Downpipe and Screamer pipe  The noise from the screamer should be insane.
Then then exhaust manifold which has some lovely...
Sold the Supra, bought a Van...
Don't worry, I haven't really. I did however hire a van to pick up my new bonnet following the damage to my old one above.
It's black but is being resprayed with the rest of the car.
My facelift indicators will be going in after the respray but I decided to...
Yeah spoke to the bodyshop myself today and there is a lot, someones definitely jumped all over it at some point. He said it's not economical to repair and even if it was I wouldn't want all that filler once the turbo's in and generating heat lol.
Luckily I have found one, got to hire a van...
So Rob popped down to the bodyshop today (I forgot to leave the window switches with them so he dropped them off)
When he arrived the bodyshop had some bad news, the bonnet is fubar'd...'someone performed a waltz on it'.
They're supposed to be all aluminium, mine's mainly filler and a lot...
You're not the only one, really excited to get the call to start building it back up
My friend has the same coilovers and his car seems spot on with them. Was going to go for Meister's as I bought those for the MX5 but these were a good chunk cheaper and comparable in quality/reviews...
Lol no, they were organised and paid for by us all as part of the road trip. Attracted a lot of attention and made it feel a lot more special really.
All off now though of course...until this years trip around Europe if I can make it
Few updates:
Firstly my coilovers were delivered, went for BC Racing RA type, they haven't been fitted yet as I plan to do this once the cars painted.
I also bought an APR Carbon Cooling Plate, will tidy the bay up nicely once I get round to that.
Now though, the final and biggest update. It...
Everytime I check in here there's yet another picture of me haha.
Looking great, this thread shows how the small, relatively cheap touches can make a huge difference.
Thanks, yeah it went really well. If I was to have another go in better conditions I doubt you'd notice at all.
With the full respray booked though I won't be bothering.
Cheers Matt, I'll let you know :) First one I find is mine though haha. I was thinking about alternatives last night just to...
It'll be angry and turbo'd soon but definitely staying Red haha. As for the german shepherd, I can barely fit a loaf of bread in the back haha...(no really)
