    182 v WRX

My car is standard ;) There are no exhaust mods except for a like for like back box and an STi panel filter, it is running standard boost on the original ecu, standard tyres and brakes, what more do you want ;) Oh and capable of 0-100 in about 11.5 so 30-100 wont make much difference :D...

    RR in north west

You can try Prosport in Stockport, they have a state of the art Bosch rolling road, and how good is it? ran my car 3 times after she was run in, came within a few bhp of the original power figure, its a 4wd r/r so can do both fwd, 4x4 and rwd. 0161 4329999 cost around 70-80 quid i think

    172 or GTI-6

Puzzles me aswell Rich. Considering that the S16 was nowhere near as good a car as the GTi-6, it had less power, a good 1.5 seconds slower to 60 and finding a good one is going to be pretty damn hard nowerdays, i would forget the idea of looking at these and go back to the phase 1 GTi6 (owned...

    fastest car here

Hey Nick your getting flustered there ;) Your right in some aspects, some people with clios can be fast, then again there are also the majority of people who cant drive them well and its only the car that flatters their mistakes. But i do agree with your last statement where you want a fast...

Dealer rip off - 1st Service

Depends on where you are in the country guys n gals. My local subaru garage charge me 55 quid an hour, the peugeot garage near where i work charges over 70 quid an hour. 220 quid down south would be 2 hours labour at 70 quid an our (140) oil at 30 quid (170) washer bottle fluid, oil filter...

    Engine blown on rolling road

Sorry to say this, but you put your car on a rolling road at your own risk, and you should have a rev cutout at under 7k on a williams (6.5k redline if i remember correctly). You have to also consider that they do not know what condition your engine is in, i could put a clapped out heap on a...

    my valver on the rollers

That torque figure seems very odd, considering its a car with 118lbs to start with, an exhaust and chip aint going to give you more than say 10lbs (not 46lbs!), though your power figures seem quite reasonable for the mods. Tony

    172/182 or CTR

Wongy, not quite right, they have had engine failures, but not the Vtec part. For an unbiast opinion, you need to speak to Rich D who has had both cars (a cup and a CTR). Tony

    What is every1’s 0-60 times

About 4.3, im just going by the manufacturers figures (and if they are anything like the bhp/torque figures then it will be quicker than that ) Tony

    Thinking of buying an Impreza

If you can afford the running costs then go for it, you wont regret it! The biggest difference you will notice between a hot hatch and a car like the Impreza is that you dont need to rag the ass off the impreza to do anything, where as with a hot hatch you will. The PPP will give you better...

    producer with no MOT

You also need to look at the bigger picture here, driving without an MOT may seem small but it invalidates your insurance as your car is classed as unroadworthy, this has a somewhat harsher penalty (driving without insurance) than not having paid 37.50 for an mot. Tony

Why are you buying a Subaru? ;) Tony

    All this 172/cup/182 bickering

We know that Rich is going for the new Megane turbo ;o) Your other option is to go out in my car and then decide? Tony (far too hung over yesterday to go out to play :o( )

    Bedding In Or Ragging In

Ran my Spec C in nicely (1600miles on the clock now) and what does she give me.... a mere 343.5lbs of torque :o:D (they quote 290lbs) so that says something eh ;) Tony:D

Oi! Hands off meh new 182!

Ever thought of using another dealer? ;) If they do this to the new cars, do you think they will have any respect for yours? i doubt it and if the dealer lets them do this then i wouldnt trust them with my car at all :@ I do remember when i was younger (in the 80s) when seeing the french...

    Crash in the CUP!

Ill not come out with any ABS jokes as i doubt it would have helped... What it does sound like is that you were going too fast for the road, i would probably expected that even with ABS you would have still lost the car on the corner... hopefully you will learn by this experience and put it...

Policeman told me De-cats are illegal!

OK, let me fill you in with the correct version... It isnt illegal to not have a cat fitted, what it is illegal is for you to be driving round on the road with a car that has failed a part of the MOT test. All cars after Jan 1 1993 HAD to have a cat fitted, the law goes back a little further...

Button on end of Wiper switch in valver

    MY BEST QUOTE

Confused.com wanted 3k for my car (oh how funny, i laughed loads :@) but i kept with my normal insurance co and pay 1/3 of what they asked on my little white monster :D (35, fncb, 9yrs, 0 points, protected, High risk M postcode). Tony

    Would ABS have helped you

Brazo, You should be able to take your cup out in every condition and adapt your driving to that condition rather than have the car out on dry days, this just defeats the object of owning one. CupBoy is also correct about stopping with a none ABS car, Top gear did a test between 2 mondeos...

    Would ABS have helped you

CupBoy, yup your right there, but it naffs your tyres up though... I drive both an ABS equipped car and a none ABS car, and jumping between them is nothing, i dont miss the ABS in the Mondeo and i havnt really set off the ABS in 3.5 years of scoob ownership, even on bumpy country roads ;) (it...

    White van+Blue Clio=Mess

If there was damage on the lhs of your vehicle that would prove he pushed you into the curb, thus showing that he was at fault, but by the looks it could end up as a 50/50 claim which means you both loose out (insurance cos find this the easiest in most cases like this) but keep at it and prove...
