If the car in question is a 3 door, because the seat is moved regulary then the wires come loose in the connectors. To fix simply cut solder and use heat shrink to seal. fixed. Renault now about the problem but wont admit its thier fault / bad design.

there is one main reason for a 172 to be underpowered. This being the switch on the cam sensor. under the plastic cover and to the left, Renault have a serious problem with the swithes under the bonnet opening up under heat. this stops the signal to the ECU being sent when the oil pressure...

had 162 bhp from ser 1 172 after pipercross viper fitted. rr the car again tmorrow will advise u what its got know with supperchip fitted. doing it at aldon automotive tmorrow.

am at the minute upgrading door side strips to mk2 172 strips with new end caps. hope the finish is OK.

if for instance u went around a sharp corner a I have in the past the fuel falls away from the sensor. thus showing low fuel level. Bet u if u put a fiver in, it will go out. had this happen. once computer feels that no fuel in tank, the only way to reset is to put more fuel in to the tank.

the only way is to access them through the bumper/ removal and do it that way

u can change the bulbs, no idea what type though. undo the star screws and the mount comes out / twist the back and this then reveals the bulbs

there are two different types to order, if u give em your vin number they can order the right one, they only show the old type fixings and badges. on the ren parts comp system had the same problem getting some updated side door mouldings / fornt badges. try this one then i bet it works

renault and clio badges on the arse are holed on the 172, the sprt badge however is not holled. Can u imagine drilling the holes for the sport badge and how many theyd have to drill especially in silver

its quite easy to give sh*te figures on a dyno all you have to do is change the air temp within the dyno program

mods on my clio are pipercross viper induction kit mated to the original air pipes eibach springs all round green stuff pads (dogs danglies) superchip

i also have a 172 mk1 and are having problems with bhp aftre mods

could have been worse could have been a fiat turbo
