my mate has a 172 and when its cold its fine but when warm the engine has a rattle,goes away when the revs are above a 1000,been told its the variable timing sproket,could this be the problem any help please guys.thanks ste

just got a 182 the other day and wanted to no if the petrol light works when its getting low on fuel,as mine was nearly in the red and the light never came on,as just like to no just incase it gets low again,then you get an idea how far it will go before it runs out of fuel.wont let it get low...

i have a mate who is a mechanic so i get mates rates and he said he would do the lot for £200 so sounds cheap enough,as he said all the belts and kit is about £150.

it has the nipples to wash the lights so i guess its not a cup.its just that looking through some threads it looks like there are loads of different models of these cars,so was seeing what model i have but looks like i may aswell forget it and just use the car.thanks ste

thanks for the info guys will give it a service and fit a filter,its a 54 plate on 59k so i think it will need a cambelt as dont think the guy before had it done,as its not in the service books as having one do i need just a cambelt or do i need to buy a whole kit.thanks ste
