Lets put the record straight other drivers and cant get the club to strip engines this doesnt happen ( you cant pay to get the club to stip other cars ) !
During the year the club will check certain things to make sure the car is legal i.e
data logging
wheel base
removal of inlets to check...
You could yes and put on big valve head but when it's sealed and rechecked at later date you would have you points taken away !
Plus the club strip engines at random times so you wouldn't get away with it
Yes correct there isn't massive power gains to be made from remapping a standard engine, but when adjusting timing and compression you then can remap to gain the extra power( you would loose power if adjusted with k tec ecu ) ! Poss about 5 + bhp this may not seem a lot but it is when racing ...
The regs are spot on when they are explained in full then you start to understand the reason to why the club have put them in.

You can't stop people entering tho if you compare lap times from silverstone we had complete novices lapping at 1.02 of a second slower, that's how close the cars are.
Basically the clio 182 is the best one if all clios are allowed to enter, people will just change hubs and shafts manifold and use the larger port head then we have different engine combinations with different power gains ! How is that fair when others don't have the money to spend to compete ...
