Hi folks
Any one had or got photos of a 172/182 with team dynamics pro rally alloys fitted? There's a set popped up that might be perfect for my track wheels.
Thanks
It was more the fact that the 2nd hand ones are newer and more plentiful if that makes sense.
182 ones are meant to be hard to get and pretty expensive. I've seen really good condition 197 ones for as little as £30 or £40 on ebay. Look brand new as well
Evening all,
Cars nearly ready for its first track day but still having issues getting a good pedal feel on the brakes. Had a look and the servo/booster looks a little tatty so want to get that cleaned/painted/checked for holes etc.
While I was there I'm pretty sure the seal between the...
Evening all,
I'm really close to finishing my track car but seems nearing the end it's 1 thing after another!
Got a super cheap set of alloys off Facebook and ordered some semi slicks. The specs of the alloys seemed perfect, 15", 6.5 inch wide and et38. They are multi fit 4x100 and 4x108 so...
Morning folks,
Looking at a 2nd hand set of tyres for my first track day. See picture below.
Realistically how much life would this set have left in them for track? They are yokohama A048s. Track is knockhill.
Thanks
Ill have a check but pretty sure it's still fitted. All abs rings are good as far as I'm aware, new disks and pads all round, new abs rings at the back, all calipers rebuilt. The abs light was off most of the drive but did come on near the end. Assumed air in the system would cause it maybe?
So took her out for her first drive tonight since I've done a load of track prep.
Brake pedal is spongy to say the least. Can pump it and it's much better, but still spongy and a fair bit of travel.
Abs light came on too so assume I've got air in there? Would that cause the abs light to come...
Yeah I read that somewhere too.
When I first got the car the reverse lock out was set up badly so you could accidently select reverse when selecting first so it was a nightmare to drive it home.
I did tweak it the other night with a mate. Selected reverse, positioned it in the car so the...
Sorted tonight with a tiny smear of rtv on the face. Only lost half a litre or so of coolant (changed the coolant less than 1 mile ago) so not too difficult a job, took about 10 minutes.
Thanks for the replies 👍
So got it running tonight after sorted a leaking thermostat out. Stuck a couple of gallons of super in and took it a "brisk" drive. Didn't skip a beat and ran perfect all the way through the rev range.
Thanks for all the helpful comments folks!
Now to sort the pms shifter which is set up...
Messaged swr also, they can't do it.
Anyone else local ish?
I know I can use resistors (3.3 ohm I've read), but does this work on the impact sensors that go either side of the car?
Thanks
That's leads to the question. If it's not fuel what's next on the list?
- Its turning over great. Will continually turn over not just for a seconds or 2 like I've read others having starting issues.
- No immobiliser light on.
- Can hear the fuel pump prime.
- White plug in engine bag looks...
Got an alternator fitted and it's now charging about 13.8 to 14.2 from a quick 2 minute test idle tonight. Checked all the earth's etc on the battery where it's located now and all are perfect from my testing.
It's just a cheapo alternator (starline) from Euros. Fit is good and charging seems...
Yep zero when ignition off, then when cranking it was between 150 and 200rpm which sounds about right.
So fuel was my next thing. I picked the car up a couple of months ago, literally drove it home and it been worked on since (stripped out, cage, bucket seats etc etc plus suspension work), so...
So still got a no start tonight. Toom the sensor out and gave it a clean, all looked OK. Gave it a crank with the scanner live data up and it's reading 150 to 200 rpm on start up. If the rpm is coming back does that rule out the crank sensor completely?
