I actually originally got a 328 sport convertible and it was boring.... Then bought this current one off my mate and its superb! It's had a lot of work done though, over £2k spent on engine alone so its a bit of a beast :)
Not sure what car id like next - something turbo but wouldn't want to...
Replaced my flamer 172 with a bmw e36 328 which has been pretty heavily modified by a mate of mine!
I love it, wouldn't change back for the world!
The beemer is faster, clio is probably quicker in twisties but tbh I love my RWD now so getting the back end to step out a little I find more fun...
It is yeah :) and funnily enough I'm the chap who was going to buy your old exhaust, for that flamer :) still see you around in my new car and occasionally flash but you probably wonder who the hell I am! Haha
Red 172 have a Loud exhaust?
If so it'll be my old car I sold to a mate. He lives in one of the little roads in Normandy and is usually seen flying about in it!
Fair enough :)
I do often see you around!! I used to own a flame red clio sport aswell, but sold that a while back.
Now in a beemer, am certain you walked past me the other day :)
See you round! Give me a flash if you see me :)
It was, 100%.
Have to remember mine is fully stripped out mate lol.
Probably ahead on the power to weight aspect of things. Gonna get mine on the rollers soon and see what it's running
Love it. :)
Also my emails don't seem to be working so if anybody wants to get hold of me (some have tried) , comment in here :)
Cheers all!
Also il be @ CSS Im my old flamer (which my mate now owns) so will see some of you there :)
Ollie
Few more pictures of the beast itself.
Gonna do a few 0-60 attempts in it soon and see what it's actually pulling because it's bloody quick! Had a blast with an e46 m3 last night and it didn't pull anything on me until over a ton.
Very impressive for a £2000 car!
Yeah it was a bloody good car the flamer. It was perfect in my eyes
I sold it to a friend who fit a new gearbox and other bits and bobs and it's on the road again.
Much prefer the e36's though! Definite upgrade from the clio...
Wouldn't mind having another clio again someday maybe but have to...
Fingers crossed it'll be today the new one goes on the road!
Can't wait ;)
(Number plate needs reattaching which I'm gonna do today before I drive it!
Cheers!
Maybe 4 months? lol.
New one is another bmw.. My mate built this car and I always said I'd have it when it comes up for sale.
It's also had this work done with engine
Couldn't turn it down lol.
More pics will be added when I've got it sorted and driving it :) just need to shift the blue one!!
Fair enough! Never knew that myself. I intend on changing the wheels eventually anyway - gonna keep these for a while as the tyres are new and change when money allows!
Thanks mate :)
The colour itself is Montreal blue, but it comes up so nice!!
It has been garaged since the day my mate bought it and he's had it absolutely ages!
I believe they're just the standard m sport wheels? Not sure. They have new tyres on rear and good tyres on front so may keep for now...
Considered it for 2 minutes but nah. I won't find another with the Milage of this one and also as I bought this off of a good mate he's told me everything which needs doing (which is minor like a window regulator in pass window.... And the exhaust heatsheilding needs re attaching....) ... But...
Okay! Proper right up for the new car after a clean and sorting a few little bits.
The car itself now has 88k miles on the clock. It's a 1997 bmw e36 328i m sport. The cars a convertible but has the detachable hard top! I paid £1500 for it and 3 days later was offered £2800 (LOL) !!
Mods. It...
So update.
The project thread ends here unfortunately with the flamer :( she got too many issues for me to warrent fixing. After spending £720 on Cambelt, PAS and stuff the gearbox decided it wanted to give in aswell as some other bits and bobs. Absolutely sucks as I loved the car to bits and...
Hello all, mate has asked me to stick this question in here
Thanks
Is there any complication with swapping a clio 1.2 8v engine to a clio 1.2 16v? I'm mainly taking about wiring.
Cheers
It's nice mate :) I was sitting passenger in my mates civic type R, we came up next to you at ladymead crossroad traffic lights and then you followed us down to the A3 roundabout. :)
