Finally sorted my iPhone XS dual sim, so have moved my EE contract to the esim and then have put my work 3 physical sim in. Works well, esim doesn’t work by itself though, needs the physical sim in there too.

I really don’t know how you’re doing it accidentally! Face Id works fine for me, in all situations, even in the dark, in bed with my head on the pillow, I’ve even had a major hair and beard cut and it didn’t affect it working. Sure it occasionally fails, but so did Touch ID.

In fact the more I think about it, the more faceid is better than Touch ID. When opening an app that has Touch ID security on it (my email, banking app, credit cards etc) I no longer have put my finger in the button to open it after clicking on the app, it just opens as it checks my face...

How do you open your phone on the desk without picking it up? Every person I speak to with it on the back at work says it’s not ideal at all.

I see what you’re saying, but the only place to put it would be on the back, which makes it less convenient to what you’re used to. The ideal situation would only be if they were able to have it built into the screen, I guess whether we’ll see that or not on the next model will depend on...

If your phone is on the desk, how do you wake it to see the notifications without logging into the home screen or picking it up? You have to click the home button with a finger not enrolled in Touch ID. I just tap anywhere on the screen.

I disagree it’s flawed, Touch ID didn’t work 100% of the time, you had to get the right finger, and it wasn’t always positioned right. Yes it’s very good, but not flawless. Ever tried to do Touch ID with wet hands, nearly impossible, I use my phone in the pool all the time, faceid is perfect...

It’s as quick. I simply swipe up rather than having to get my finger on the home button, it’s a single action, exactly the same. As I pick it up I swipe, I look st the phone (like you do) and as I do it unlocks and is at the home screen, it’s maybe a millisecond slower sometimes, but the action...

Yes it unlocks, but you still have to press it to get to an app surely, unless there’s a setting I didn’t have on. If there’s an option then there must be the same option for the x, as faceid works the same as Touch ID.

that still only unlocks the phone, to get to the home screen you still need to press the button you're holding your thumb on, at least thats how it worked with my iPhone 7 plus. faceID is no different, its a swipe instead of a press, no slower with my tests.

why don't you swipe up as you go to look at the screen, then it does both at the same time, its so fast to detect your face its barely noticeable theres a delay. You really don't need to look at the phone, wait for the unlock icon and then swipe up, if you're doing this then you're doing it wrong!
