I had this because of my pms topmounts, after a while of creaking it turned to a massive bang when i was taking the lock back off, the bearings had seized so wasnt keeping the top hat of the spring where it should have been, the bearings are about 25 pound each when i bought mine the other month
Just seen this, ive haven't been to any of those meets in the past but im definitely up for either, perhaps the Hamsterley one will be nice on a sunday afternoon
2007 reg? Bloody hell thats late, sure i saw this for sale a while back as people were abit unsure if it was genuine, people done checks on it and it was just a really late registered one, yeah the cup/cup packed ones usually have the darker wheels

If its the noise i currently have which by your description is the same its my cv its light a loud rotating creak/knock when braking and doing turns at low speed
Ive got them on mine and they have never had play in them even before i replaced the bearing, the bearings in these are a serviceable part from pms and they were only 24 pound each i think, just done mine

My 182 is exacly the same it drives me crazy driving it when its cold, when i start mine on a very cold morning it idles at about 1700 rpm for a few seconds then drops to about 1300 which i guess is normal when cold, then if i pull away or monouver drives normal then as soon as the clutch goes...
Sounds daft but try wiggling the relays as I had corrosion on one of mine used to start fine some days then I would have to give it a wiggle, worth ago
Matt
I had these on my 1.2 you will need the spring compresses as you will need the standard top mounts, tool wise need an 18mm impact socket with a windy gun, a decent 18mm spanner that wont snap or bend, few punches and a sh*# load or wd40 ;)
A business called mydan auto design (MAD) he had the for 26 pound posted, but I messaged him and it was only one run of stock and hes not getting anymore in apparently, I just got one off ebay for 30
matt
As already stated the relays try and replace the relays, I spent 100 of pounds on sensors and it turned out to be a 5 pound relay the ones infront of the battery just give them a wiggle then try replacing them with eachother I did this as one was getting two hot
