Thanks for the suggestion. I rotated the wheel up and down once and that cured the problem. I still don't understand why only the upper and lower lights on the central console were originally affected as wheel affects both the console lights and the instrument panel lights simultaneously.

Car is Renaultsport Clio 182 2005 When the sidelights and dipped lights are turned on the Central Console lights, except the middle section cd/radio lights, go off. When the sidelights and dipped lights are turned off again all the Central Console lights come back on. Any ideas?
