Not much to report lately, just been collecting some small bits for the build.
Managed to pick up a lever bias valve and 3 chamber reservoir that had been mounted but never used at decent price.
Also got a brake hold/line lock solenoid for the rears when on the grid as done have a handbrake...
Enough?
Yes it has some gubbins inside to have help air separation.
"The scavenge oil return is fan tailed and angled onto the inner side wall of the tank to to spin the oil and air apart. The oil then runs down through a flat baffle plate to promote further oil air separation, finally...
Less of a progress report and more of a fashion show post
Took delivery of a Carbon bulkhead infill plate thingy this week, will let the pictures do the talking
Big thanks to Alex Gregory for making it 👌🏻
Oh and it weighs in it at just 210grams rather that 840 like the steel one.
Bit more done today,
Fittings arrived this week to make a start on the fuel lines and get the last oil line finished but like always what you think is right never actually is 🤦🏻♂️
Bottom feed line done.
Tank did have plastic push fit 90° fitting with a ½" BSPT thread but trying to find...
Things have been slow going again lately with building cages and moving house.
Slight bit of progress yesterday though getting the Laminova mounted and the oil lines done. (One fitting short of finishing them 🤦🏻♂️)
Fab'd up a lower bracket to locate the tank as trying to holding it place with...
You're probably right I could of got away with something like that but wanted to try bolt from the spacer into the inlet manifold as per the standard.
Plus as Mark said #becauseracecar weight saving and all that 😂
Designed like that because they need to be like that mate.
The straight spacers that was in before put the trumpets nearly touching the bonnet. And the taper is to go from the 50mm bodies down to the inlet manifold
Time for a bit of an update then.
Tweaked the design for the angled spacers and put them out for quotes to be cnc'd
Wasn't really sure what to expect with the bore having a sweep and a taper but quotes came back ranging from £224 each 😬😬 to £98 each 😬 (still a bit of a sting)
Anyways they...
Did a bit of ringing around on Monday as I'd found some angled spacers on the Jenvey website, unfortunately they only off a parallel bore and as the current 25mm spacers are tapered down from the 50mm bodies to the inlet manifold they couldn't offer anything that would do the job.
So after a...
Update time,
Progress has been slow as of late as been flat out building cages but between jobs today so thought we'd have a go at moving things along.
Thought I'd have a little spending spree last week but some 700+ quid later it turned out to be not so little 😬
Decided to go for the...
Little bit more done yesterday, flywheel ARP bolts torqued up, cam cover bolts swapped out for some pretty stainless ones and trimmed down a couple of the trumpets
Not really much to update on as yet with being busy with roll cages and the b****cks that is Christmas
I have manage to source a new water pump pipe that should work with the dry sump kit though off a Renault Kangoo. The mount is no good so will have to make a clamp bracket to secure it but...
Long rods and short pistons to alter the rod ratio.
The original engine builder that spec'd the cams always said he'd spec'd them so it doesn't need to rev its nuts off to make power.
Still plans to get them on there at some point, will be making provisions in the loom for the actuator but...
Got to say a big thanks to Mark for getting all this put together. I know it was a b**ch and at times I think we both felt like throwing it in the skip. Was good to have a catch up yesterday mate and give you some space back in your garage.
Didn't get chance to do anything to it yesterday as...
