I have a 200 and it averages 27.4 according to the trip. That's with mixed driving and the odd blast now and then.
If driven at 60/70 mph on motorways/b roads then you'll easily get 33 - 34 mpg no probs:)
Try and get a Full Fat 200 which is the best of both worlds. The cup chassis really isn't too harsh unless driven on really bumpy roads at slow speeds:)
Yeah the mk4 would be easier to live with on a day to day basis as it has more torque and is probably are bit more refined than the mk3:)
However the 2.0 n/a is a screamer and I think I would miss that from time to time when having a bit of fun!
Thanks for the replies guys.
I'm not sure if I would consider getting the mk4 for my next car then if it's different in many ways good or bad as you's are saying.
Also I think the paddle shift gearbox is all wrong for a small hot hatch and takes away part of the fun from the whole experience.
Yeah I get what you mean thanks. I own a mk3 clio 200 and was wondering if the mk4 has moved the game on again in terms of how good these clio sports are to drive or is it more of a sideways step?
Hi everyone:)
Was wondering if anyone has driven both the new Clio 200 as well as the old mk3 model and is there a big difference in the way the cars drive?
I know the engine's will be quite different as one is a 1.6T while the other is a n/a 2.0
Others thoughts would be appreciated thanks.
Ok thanks very much for the reply as I'm thinking of buying the Maxogen just to improve the noise a little:)
Car looks epic btw and is one of the best 200's around!
Does the ITG Maxogen make any difference to the performance or does just the noise get better?
Also did it create any flat spots at any point in the rev range?
Just make sure when you test drive the car that there are no weird things going on with the gearbox like crunching etc as Clio 197/200's are well known for this. Also check that the steering is ok as well and there are no knocking noises coming from it as racks are known to fail on high mileage...
