Sounds similar to what happened on my 1.2 Clio when I had it and that turned out to be the coil pack. Mine stuttered and misfired when setting off but once you had set off it was fine. Does yours start alright or does it cut out after starting sometimes? If it cuts out it could be crank sensor...
