I don't really have an issue with driving down to EFI or any other renault tuner as i have a trailer, its just the fuel costs and driving time that puts me off 14hrs driving plus a potential night in a hotel etc.
My only option real option for mapping in Scotland is to get an aftermarket ecu...
Its looking like class E either road going if i leave the rear seats in or modified if i take them out. upto 161bhp/tonne i believe.
I take it you compete in SLS? I didnt realise you were restricted to running the same mods all year? its not an issue like just sussing out my options

I know what your saying but any changes to the car and i'd have to go back again for more mapping, i'm intending on entering the Super Lap Scotland Series at Knockhill this year and need to be careful as to what mods I do to keep it within a certain BHP/Tonne so an RS2 or Bodies would be ideal...
As title,
I've been contemplating buying an RS2 inlet for my ph2 172 cup but due having to travel the length of Britain to have it mapped on the Standard Ecu, i'm considering purchasing bodies instead as i'll likely have to get an aftermarket ecu if i want to have it mapped locally.
Is there...
As title was at knock hill for a track day on friday and the car ran perfect all day, after the last session put the car onto the trailer stopped the car then realised i needed to straighten it up, went to start again and nothing happened not even a click like the solenoid on the starter was...
What flange arrangement did you go for on the gt2860r? also what a/r version did you choose? looking to purchase one of these soon but not 100% on what inlet and outlet flanges i require.
Cheers
Martin
Had a look at the autronic last night and also the link g4 storm, both seem very good. thats a long way away yet though.
When you speak about tubular manifolds does anyone manufacture these to buy? or is it a custom job?
Martin
I have had a look at some of the turbo project threads but most seem to be from years ago, running old technology, i understand that the conversion has not changed mechnanically but the mapping etc must have moved on a bit. also there isnt much detials on the cr's etc as most threads have been...
Difference now mate is i dont have the money i had before hence going for something bit less expensive, a wedding, new baby & house have made a massive dent in my car/motorsport budget and although i'm looking at a turbo'd clio i'm not saying i have 1000's to throw at it but will be doing it in...
Going from the car i had to the clio i'd say i'm more than familiar with what i want, i've just spent the last 3 years building and maintaining an 400+ BHP Evo 4 with fully forged engine, big turbo, fancy diffs etc. last turbo when it failed was 2k on its own.
I understand that a turbo clio...
I agree with you there, i'll talk to my mapper and see what he can/will work with, ideally i'd like the tps vs rpm map to control the boost as you say otherwise the car would be pretty much undriveable with high boost or low boost for that matter.
I never realised how many ecu options there...
Hi Folks
Another question regarding turbo conversions
Been looking back through older threads regarding ecu's for turbo conversions on 172/182
Omex 600 seems to be a popular one but seems a bit dated in terms of technology.
I believe the EC-1 is good if you want to retain the original...
Thanks for the replies guys.
Just trying to get my head around all the different options before i jump in and get cracking
the plan is to purchase a tastefully modded 172 or 182 to run at track days and have a bit of fun whilst buying another engine and building it as i have time, looking to...
I have been looking into carrying out a turbo conversion shortly on either a 172 or 182.
Now i'm looking for someone to clarify a few points for me in relation to low and high pressure conversion differences
I presume low/high pressure is reffering to boost pressure??
a low pressure turbo...
Yeah I've been doing a lot of reading up on which turbos to use and which management to use etc. I think the plan will be to buy and use the car on track in slightly modified form but build another engine in my spare time and do the swap once I gather all the bits together
The forum is...
Hi folks
I've been looking into buying a 172/182 as a replacement track car as I am currently breaking my evo 4 sprint/hill climb car and looking for a slightly cheaper car to still have a bit of fun in. After buying a new house and getting married motorsport has unfortunately been knocked...
