Thanks @CJM. According to the guy who has the gear box out of the car, it doesn't have a spedo. he sent me a picture of the code on it which I have attached but it appears to read - JCS 130 C 002725

Yes, I can imagine! Good NZ F+C is hard to beat. It's a super drive to be sure.

Thanks CJM - appreciate that. So working on £200 for shipping, presumably it will be several hundred £ to buy the transmission, i'm up for several thousand NZ$, more than what I paid for the entire car. Might be time for an upgrade! Anyone want me to sell me a 200? ;)

Having lusted after a Clio Sport for many years, I finally own one (for the past 6 months), a 2002 172. It's got 160kms on the clock and I put about 1500km's a month on it, mostly on empty twisty back roads that it just eats up. now I have a 172, all I want is a 200!
