Cool, so it literally is for when you just want to set climate control to auto and leave alone. No problem, will leave it unplugged and set temperature manually on the fly for what I need.

Will do, I know it seems like an obvious question but never set off a car alarm before, deliberate or otherwise!

Noticed the ambient temperature sensor humming/buzzing quite loudly by the interiror light the other day so bought another off ebay, have replaced it and it's buzzing just as bad if not worse. What's the consequences of just leaving it unplugged/removed?
