Anybody with a valver got a black rubber cap with jemar or something like that on it covering a metal disk coming through the dash just to the left of the steering column? whats it for?

I met the previous owner of my valver this afternoon, wierd someone knowing things about ya car.

My valver has an alarm/immobilizer thang, but noly flahes its hazard lights and no sound, also i think its been got at in the past as the key to the alrm wont go in, is there anything i can do to replace it or bypass it? Its good that i can leave my dog in it at times, but if someone has a go...

Ive been having probs with 1st gear, i dread light incase i get stuck and have to move off in 2nd, putting it into 2nd and then 1st usually works, but not always. Is there anything i can do? btw, anyone know pitstop in stevenage?

Just had it changed and the temp seems to sit about 3/4 all the time except for an occasional drop to 1/2 way, will this settle down?

Can someone please tell me the best oil to use for a 1.8 16v L reg? Ive currently got some mobil1 15w 50 fully synthetic, but thought maybe semi? If i use the mobil1 on my car with 84k , will it harm it? Ta.

Ive lost my oil on the right hand side around the fan belt area and cant see where its coming from but the temp goes to 1/2 way and the guage for max/min is at 0. Any ideas?

Gave my valver a push for the first time this afternoon and feck me, it was in 2nd and seemed to go well over 60, heading towards 70, is this normal, it feckin moves dont it.:D
