It's a pretty sound investment tbh. Its never going to go down in value as long as the next owner keeps it off the road.

Ford fan boys will be all over it.

Title is a bit misleading mate. It's hardly just a 10k Puma. Just out of curiosity has the OP driven one or researched them at all?

I just sold an Frp with 109k on the clock for 6k 4 weeks ago.

Advert us shocking for a car in such good condition.

There was on on Ebay with 9k on the clock. Some garage bought it years ago. They were wanting 10k for it.

It's worth what someone will pay for it, and I've no doubt someone will pay that

I'd rather pay a couple of grand more and get a vee.

oooo, you went there.

Now, that would be a convincing argument if you could get a 225 Vee for "a couple of grand more". Not bothered with a Ph.1 Vee myself.

You'd struggle to find a ph2 Vee for 12,000. Considering the going rate is more like 14,000.

So that's that one out of the window.

Sound enough investment providing all you want to do is leave it parked in a garage and not drive it, which I must admit I wouldnt have any interest in doing myself.

If I was spending a 5 figure sum on a puma, Id want a proper one like warren penalver's.

I would think he will get close to what he is asking for it.

FRP's > Vee

All day, every track day

TBH neither of them are a great choice for a trackday, too much "collectors tax" on them both, you'd be better off with a 172 cup and some appropriate upgrades really.

Just 3k difference then.

Lols at calm down! Fair play mate. Quite surprised we're comparing Vee's to Frp's.

Maybe I shouldn't be surprised. This is CS afterall.

M3/

Chip, reading the title I thought it would have been Warren's car.

As a driver's car the puma is all over the clio v6. Only thing that let's the puma down as an overall package is the fairly wimpy engine.

Like I said - a couple of grand.

For someone who has issues with cliosport you certainly spend a lot of time on here!

pft.

Pauper-spec MX-5 with upgrades would be superior.

For someone with no clio, and no real enthusiasm for clios it is a bit confusing he's on here so much.
His choice of course, but does seem weird he cant just make some online friends with shared interests instead like fords or whatever.

Not really convinced by that TBH, dont get me wrong, I like MX5's but its just the basic stuff like the fact you cant easily take a couple of sets of wheels and your tools with you etc that gives hatchbacks an edge if you do a lot of trackdays like I do.

For example, last weekend of this month Im going to bedford for a trackday, then going snowboarding on saturday and then doing trax on sunday.

Clio lends itself well to carying around all the tyres and snowboarding gear etc, where as an MX5 I would need a tow car or support vehicle as well

I do. They're on here. Maybe look outside of Clio discussion or media.

Not sure why you think I have issues with Clios. They're superb bang for buck. Probably the best. Maybe i'm judt not biased so can accept their flaws.

You know what a couple is, right? And that you could literally buy another 172 cup with the difference?

Just checking.

I can't remember the link but I think it was 12995 or something. Maybe take £12500? £2500 is more or less a couple of grand in my book.

But hey, you say tomato I say tomato.

I tend to stick to mainly the techy threads TBH mate, not all that interested in the social side, not really got enough time.

Although, you have more posts in General Chat than anywhere else. Just saying. So do many of us. I suppose at least your ratio is better than most :D

But lol at going down the "don't own a Clio" path. Some of the most intelligent and highly contributing members on here don't own a Clio.

Only because the other areas are more split down TBH mate, so for example I have more posts in just the engine section and suspension section than I do in the whole of general chat, the chat threads only account for about 20% of my posts, so like I said, I stick mainly to technical threads, and even my posts in the general section tend to be the more car related ones rather than actual general chitchat.

Seems strange to me thats all mate, unless you intend on getting one again at some point or currently have one there doesnt seem much point spending ages on a forum which is about them.

True enough I guess, and well justified.

On the other point - CS is about so much more than Clios.

Im sure to different people its different things, personally I come here to buy/sell clio bits, read about other peoples interesting projects, and to try and help out with some advice to help people better enjoy their car, while Im here if I notice a thread on politics or something I'll reply to it, but it wouldnt occur to me to come to the forum just for those sort of posts in the first place if I wasnt here for the clio chat.
Seems weird anyone (not specifically gally here by the way, just anyone not currently owning a clio or intending to) would come here just for the little side bits like that.

Nothing wrong with it BTW, was just saying it surprised me those people cant find something on the internet that interests them more than a forum about a car they no longer want thats all mate, not that I think those people shouldnt be allowed here or anything silly like that.
