12 or 10 inch sub??

Whats the sound difference?

Currently have a mahoosive 12" sub in a large ported box, thinking of changing it to a 10" sub in a smaller enclosed box to free up some space in the boot. Whats the difference in sound?

depends on make and type tbh.. but the 10 will give less bass but should be able to move faster so better for hig bpm tracks

What i'm after is a good quality sound rather than bass, so i'm guessing the 10 inch is better for that?

nah get a decent 12 in a fairly small sealed box (0.8 - 1.0 cu.ft)

give you the best of both worlds and id say run it off an class AB amp

I've got an Amp in the boot which is currently running the sub, so you rekon changing the box is the way forward?

think 12's are better for long bass notes, and 8's/10's are better for the likes of dance music

Can't remember off the top of me head, i'll check in the morning. Its not a biggun, 600W rings a bell?? :S

Aye thats what i was thinking...i'm in to everything so i suppose the 12" is better as an all rounder eh?

yeah a sealed 12 will sound better than a ported 10 on fast beats due to phase delay and s**t.
