16x6.5 wheels on a 182 cup?

  182, 200
hi, just picked up a 182 cup.
I'm interested in a set of wheels which are 16x6.5 4x100, centre bore 76.

Does anyone know if these will fit, if I get 76 to 60.1 spigot rings?

And on a 205 45 16 tyre ?

Thanks

182 offset is ET45, those wheels will stick out 11.4mm more than standard and be closer to the strut by 1.4mm if that helps... TBH I'd sack the 16's off and fit 15's, I've been daily driving my 182 for 11 years and only recently fitted 15's, drives 10 times better!

Would the wheels in question fit though. I just have newish tyres so want to stick with the 16s for now. Thanks !!

I wouldn't fit 6,5" wheels with std size clio 182 tyres which is 205/45 16. It will look as the wheel is too narrow for the tyre.
For example, I remember when I had some 195/50 15 tyres that have been fitted to 6" wide rims - they looked totally wrong, it was clear that the rim is too narrow, like it was pulling the tyre to the inside, after that I had them fitted to 6,5" rims and it was spot on.
You may get them to fit well on a 195/45 tyre though but as I see you already have the 205 tyres so yeah, 100% recommend to mount them on 7" rims

Pretty sure that a 6.5" rim ET40 would be 11.4mm further from the strut and stick out 1.3mm less than a standard 7J ET45 rim. So yes, it will fit. And 205 is ok on a 6.5" rim.

Hmm ah right okay, so maybe it's back on the cards :)
I would love turinis but such a pain to find them in stock and getting sent to Australia.
So thinking of a few local options for other wheels hence the question.
Thank you!

Sorry yes you're right I got the wheel widths mixed up.

Fit or no fit is one but the way it will look is another matter. Trust me, it will look awkward on 6,5" rims, let me show you some examples as to why that is

This site is quite a useful tool, I encourage people to use it
So, see how the 205/45 tyres sits on 7" vs 6.5"? It's sidewall is almost straight - good fit
Ignore the other 18" wheel size, I just put it out there so the 16" wheel will be more visible
Now, look how a 205/60 tyre sits on a 6,5" rim- the sidewall flex towards the inside is less visible because of the taller sidewall and the fact that talll sidewall tyres are more baloon like so yea, a 205/60 would fit okish on a 6,5" rim,
Now let's imagine if a 205/30 tyre would exist (only for demo purpose) - see how the sidewall stretch to the inside is more visible?
I'm talking from experience, I bought long time ago some 15" rims with 6.5" width but the store mistakenly got me 6" wide ones, and when I fitted them to the 195/50 R15 tyres I had back then and they looked awful, told them to re-order and get the correct 6,5" rim - they looked spot on
Renault put 7" wide rims for a reason on the 1*2's (even the 172 ph1 has 7" wide rim with 195 width tyre!) would be a shame to go to the hassle of getting some wheels imported just to find them fitting the tyres wrong :(

Thanks so much, this site is quite useful..
Looks like I'll just be patient and look for a set of clio spec turinis then

I sincerly advise you do that :)
I shopped for some rims earlier this year and found some ATS rims that I REALLY liked but they were 16x6,5" unfortunately :(

Et is not a problem, you add a spacer and that's it, std is Et45 so you might aswell leave it like it is
