Infinitely easier, in fact, I don't think it is possible without front bumper off mate. Then you'll see there are about 5 -6 clips along its length along the top and bottom of the grille. It just pops out easy!
Let me know if you want to know how to get front bumper off.

Easier with two of you, one to do bolts and one to hold the bumper on.
Under the wheel arches, under the liners there are bolts under where the bumper meets the wing. These are all that hold the bumper on, you will need to pull quite firmly the bumper down and away from the wing and it will free. Make sure you disconnect washer jets and fogs!

You'll need to disconnect the undertray too.
