2 bucket method

  Black Gold with cup packs
I have heard a bit about this. What in the blue hell is is.
Could someone be kind enough to elaborate

Its for gay people who spend all the there time cleaning instead of driving.:rasp:

Seriously though I think you have a spare bucket to rinse the cloth in after its touched the car, so you then put it in your normal bucket without contaminating it with all the dirt. Makes good sense, but never done it.

Dont bother with that. Get a megs bucket and grit guard insert - it leaves all the grit at the bottom of the bucket under the gaurd so you dont put it on the car

Still adviseable to be used in conjunction with the two bucket method for extra safety BW Boy

I disagree. If you use a plush lambs wool deep pile mitt and the grit guarded bucket then you've got no worries at all about grit on the paint.

Ive never marked my paint whilst washing it even carelessly using the above method.

Get a black car do the same and come back and see me after class .....

Always use the extra safety of the 2nd fresh water bucket rinse.

well thats black, luckily ill never have one. Their far too much hard work! . Have you ever used a natural sea sponge?

Spotting swirls must be impossible on your flip flop finish?

A few years back, no bothered since, sticking to lamsbswool.

i have a silver car and just wash it like any other person, worked fine for me,

I wash my silver 306 like that using one bucket to do the whole car including the wheels and sometimes even use a sponge on it, when I look closely at it the paint is covered in swirl marks though!

Silver is for beginners... although secretly I am jealous... they are so easy to clean, don't even need to dry them properly.

Is it bad to use a sponge?? What do you use instead?!

In my world everythings very simple. :approve:

Back on topic please. Silver is a good colour but I find the shine is never as good as on darker colours for some reason.

I love it when you look upset!

You are simple that's why ;)

Silver looks reflective and shiny, Black and Darker colours look deep, glossy and shiny.

Perhaps I should leave detailing forever and go on back to general tat? (and take my butter wet wax with me)

  ST on the way...
PMSL @ "Flip Flop Paint" hahaa class ;)

Back on topic, I always use the 2 bucket method if the car needs a wash, the only time I don't is if i'm only removing a light dust (thats too heavy for a QD) in which case i'll Gilmour the car, let it settle then rinse and wash with 1 bucket working top to bottom.
