200 vs Scirocco

Is it me, or does that video make you not want to go on the nurburgring?... looks f**kin scary!

Is it always that manic?

There is always going to be people there that are very very into it. It's like KFC for fat people. No reason why it should put you off, you could get behaviour like that (probably not actually) on a British trackday. Good fun IMO.

Could see the VW driver getting more and more desperate towards the end lol.

I'd be firmly at the back letting that lot sort them selves out at the start of that vid!

Makes me want to get out there again asap though!!

I'd love to go out there, but f**k going on a public day. I'd rather pay the extra for a track day. Get to use the track without donor-cycles flying about, coaches etc

Ah ok, well the 200 driver is clearly the better driver. Sirocco looks like it's on the edge under pressure lol. I must get out there and have a play on that track next year!

I've been 3 times and it has never been that busy on track, even when we queued 30 mins to get on. Looked a horrible lap to drive with that traffic :s

You have to consider the cars. A rocco is a fair bit softer than a 200 as standard, so will always move about more and appear more mobile. It's also a fair whack heavier, with weaker brakes. And he'll have the esp/tc cutting in (can't be completely deactivated iirc).

All things considered he seemed to be doing ok, I'd expect a 200 to lap quicker than a 2 tfsi Rocco.

Looks very busy, if i was in that position i just know id get over excited, replace my brain with a pork chop and stack it lol!

TBH That 'rocco looks like it's been mapped as it seems to have the legs on the straight which it shouldn't imo unless the 200 is carrying ballast!

Most 200's are pumping out 180-190max bhp. Most golfs and roccos running the 2l are putting out more than 200bhp as standard, and a boat load more torque than a 200. So I'd expect the rocco to pull away. Especially if it's dsg.

The Scirocco also has a 'Rent-Racecar' sticker on the rear bumper, hence drive it like you rented it.

The 200 practically pushes him round the entire way, except for the fast 'straight' section, where the Sciroccos torque wins.

Hardly rapes it on straights though. the 200 sticks with it ok On the straights IMO

I'd agree with the coments on the Scirocco being standard, especially as it's a rental track car. I wouldn't be suprised though if the driver were a member of staff or one of the locals, he may not have been a fantastic driver but he knew what he was doing.

Of course it's standard.

It pulls away from the 200, so it can't be standard. LOL.

Yeah, because the 200's a straight line monster!
