31 MPG for a 1.2?

  200 Gordini
Its a 2005 1.2 16v.

Im getting 31 MPG and thats taking it resonably easy!

I think its a bit low myself but is it about right?

My 1.6 is currently on 41.3 mpg with a 5 mile run to town, then about 45 mins of town driving, then a 5 mile run back home. Thats using super unleaded every 4th tank of fuel.

I would definately say yours is low if you are taking it easy.

yep. I know its not a performance car, but the additives are good for your engine, and the slightly higher mpg i get for the unleaded balances out the slightly higher cost of filling the tank.

i didnt mean don't use it, i use it every tank in my car, but i didnt think it made any effect on anything unless it is used consistantly??

may aswell use it all the time, only makes a few £'s difference on a full tank.

Ha, yes!! Red lining in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Ran out of space so only used a bit of 5th :(

what speeds does it top out at in each gear when you tested it on that runway??

i think he means, why just every fourth?

AH ok, misunderstood. Didnt realise i should use it every tank, may start doing that then.

not saying you need to mate, i just thought that the car only adapts to the higher RON slowly so may aswell just use it all the time or not at all.

They have always been crap at mpg.I bet the 1.4 gives better returns due to the engine not having to work so hard

  HyperAlloy Combat Chassis
Something wrong there, I got around 50 from my 1.2 16v without too much effort. I get 40-42 from my 182!

I used to get 30-35mpg in my 1.6. Towards the end of owning it though I 'forgot' to get it serviced and about 9months after it was due that was down to about 28mpg.

Atm, I'm getting 39.7 and I give it death daily. I used to get low 30s all the time. Used to always complain, turns out it was just the way i was driving. Changed my driving style abit & now i'm getting a constant 8 + mpg over my old driving style.

My mate used to get that from his 1.2 but he drove it like an F1 car!

I was getting 50 to 55mpg (per tank) on the computer out of mine but I was driving for consumption and freewheeling down hills!

The computer lies a bit. By measuring at the pumps I'd say the computer claims it is doing 3 or 4mpg better than it really is. I measured this over a year with a spreadsheet showing the computers figure and the figure calculated manually.

Yeah I am a geek!

i'm only getting 30.3 mpg this take over 60 miles so far, thats because i'm commuting at busy times in constant stop start traffic, got 47mpg on a 19 mile each way trip last sunday so i no there is nothing wrong with the car just the driving i'm doing.

i got about 39-41 acording to my trip (take it with a pinch of salt ) from my 1.2 or 320miles before i topped it up when the 2nd to last light went out i put 35quid in which was around 35ltrs clios have a 50ltr tank then again my dci seems do be doing 53mpg at the mo an it cost 40quid to fill

it all depends on driveing style i dont think they completely acutrate personaly

thats really bad, your car must be fucked or maybe you drive round bouncing off the limiter, on a run ill get 40+ at 80-90, booting along the country lanes i can still get a good 30...

i reset the trip on my 182 last week whilst going along a country road (old betts for those that know) and i saw 50mpg lol (downhill though at this point) but my mpg seems to stay at a steady 35/36mpg at all times, goes down to 34 minimum when im "having fun"

  Dynamique+ 1.4
mine shows 34mpg atm in my 1.4 16v but ive done 300miles since i filled up, and ive used 7.5 gallons so that works out at actually 40mpg, so i dont take anynotice of the mpg thing, i should get another 40 miles or so so then ive had 340 miles out of £42 on normal shell unleaded.
