GOW has great gameplay. graphics are Very good but lacking in colour (think it's sposed to be like that, sets the scence tye thing) but its very short, I completed it in 4 afternoons on Hardcore.

Zelda's gameplay is far more emersive (that a word?) because of teh remote. Graphics are not as good as 360 obviously but not as bad as the GameCube. Zelda is a very long game if you do everything in it!

depends what you nt. i've always found nintendo's to be more fun based with your mates of a drunken evening kind of console. 360/ps2 are more serious gaming

well my 3 fav games of all time were ocarina of time, goldeneye and mario kart. says it all about me liking nintendo games.i wanna get 1 just dont know if it will be enough to keeop me interested.suppose if i get it monday and there is still short supply i could sell it before xmas and make my money back anyway....
i used to sit up all night in bed playing zelda, dont think that will be possible on this though with all the swinging controllers around and all..

Here we go again...

Decision rests with you mate, personally if you're looking for something new and possibly exciting then i'd go for the Wii (and save some cash). If you want something more standard but with good graphically, then get the 360.

For me, it's a Wii though. Zelda is touted at the game of this century :)

have a check on google for xbox 360 3 red lights of death. Mine is broken and away for repair. Used for about 20hours! on the other hand it is a great machine-next gen for sure

The lights of death was supposed to have been fixed on all 360's built this year.

My brothers and I have 3 between us and a couple of friends at work have 360's and not one has developed a fault...

I played on my brothers Wii last night. My comments are in the Wii thread but I don't think it is a replacement for a proper console with proper games.

It has it's place but if you buy the Wii you are sure to still want a 360 whereas if you buy a 360 you may not feel any desire to buy a Wii. I know I don't.

Also if you have an LCD TV then don't buy a Wii unless you want to pay £60 for a proper cable from Ebay. Otherwise it looks dreadful.

I'm tempted by the Wii simply because it's different, and I think it's a step in the right direction.

I'm fed up with pretty graphics and uninteresting games, and for me the 360 is just more of the same.

i'd take a wii just for zelda, saying that im getting a 360.

probably wait to see if the wii pans out into a decent console.

get the wii, sell it on ebay, get a 360.

360 all the way. Once the novelty of the Wii has worn off you'll hanker for something more immersive.

Wii is good (yes I have played one!) and very good fun with the mates but I cant imagine playing some of the games for very long on my own, though Zelda will be supurb. Still, I prefer my 360 at the mo, the Wii is still a novelty thing for me and not a hard core games console.

I'm more of a 20 minute gamer, pick it up, bash it out put it down, lol.

I'm not an immense gamer, at least not anymore I just like to have a quick 20 mins here and there so can't justify the current price tag of the 360, which as I said is just more of the same thing from my current XBox.

If I had the money, I'd have both, but I don't, so will probably get a Wii in the new year when the price drops a bit more :)

you'll hanker for something more immersive.

Yeh because Zelda isn't exactly that, and the control system affords a more involving experiene.

You say you've played on one? Are you sure? :)

Lol yes! Not Zelda though, which is the only game that interests me on the Wii at present.

What I meant was, the very nature of the console means that there will be less fully emersive games made for it. There will be more of the 'party' style games that the PS2 did with the eye toy.

love zelda, but the rest of the current wii lineup dissapointed me.

still playing COD3 online and rainbow six:vegas too. both great games imo...

gears of war sucked imo, looked pretty but the cover system made it far too repetitive to play

I'd buy a 360 for now and maybe consider a Wii in 4-6 months time when more games are available for it that I'd actually want to own.

well here's a problem with wii that i concluded, if your playing tennis or boxing or something or the sort you need room to move around, surely you need a safety area for this?

the next day we visit the metro centre and in game they have a wii set up playing tennis and they have a safety perimeter setup! i was right, people playing on this were having to make big swings to play, so infact you really need a big room to play in as if your playing multiplayer there'll be some controller on head contact - imagine you;ve all had a few drinks your in a average sized living room still using a 32" telly, there;s 4 of you and you may find it a little hard to focus on the screen your getting more and more into the action and you start swinging - sorry but theres gonna be trouble!!

and secondly you ill as fook in your bed only friend you have is your wii your barely gonna wanna sit up and starting swinging your arms round to mash your enemies with a sword?

now woudnt it be easier with a normal controller?

not saying the wii is all bad but just a couple of points that have sprung in mind

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
The Wii come with an ordinary controller so that answers that bit.

The Wii also recognises the amount of movement you are putting in and makes sure its proportional, which answers that bit.

  80MPG BEEZA
well it didnt look like that yesterday as i guy wasnt moving much and the wii wasnt responding to it until he started swinging it properly,

then if you can use an ordinary controller doesnt this take the whole individual thing away from the wii?

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
Like you said, sometime you might just want to sit down or lay in bed an play!

Nintendo give you the option

  80MPG BEEZA
yea but still if you just wanna lay in bed and play then im sure people wud rather use a ps3 or 360 controller? plus the graphics would be better

wii is gameplay + controller, if you take to the old controller your just playing a gamecube?

and what about the movement? you have to be able to swing round i can still see this causing problems?

i'm also starting to think games may start getting a good one every now and then and how long can they make new ideas for games up? i understand the idea of it getting you more involved but i'm doubtful on how far the idea may go

  80MPG BEEZA
i think i'll go for a 360 myself if i dont push for a ps3 off ebay, as for the wii if people want it they'll get it but only the next year or so will see how it does so its pointless judging it as a overall console right now, its different with a new idea give it a year and see what the price is like and how many are available pre owned in the shops

  Citroen DS3 DSport
Buy the 360, it's had a year on the market and has several excellent games available for it now. Consider a Wii next May/June.

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
I agree with the waiting it out to see how teh wii will do over time.

However I have to dissagree with teh Wii being pointless if it comes with an added Classic controller.

The point is you can choose, one day have your mates round and use teh wii remote, then another day sick in bed use the wii controller. You dont have to use just one or the other!

Right. I will be the first to admit, if I was in the market for a new console I wouldnt buy a Wii because of the poor graphics. There, I said it.

I have now played 3 Wii games, Wii Sports, a truck racing game and Need for Speed Carbon. NFS Carbon was jerky. The controls added nothing to the experience other than frustration. Then I was shown an HD video of COD3. It moves well but the characters are blocky. Blocky!! Sorry but that isnt acceptable in this day and age and really puts me off. With the 360 version on the market, buying this makes no sense... I accept though that these are launch titles so wont push the system and agree with those that say give it time but WHY didnt they give it more power??

Does this make me shallow?

got both, just now the wii is more fun.. but we will see about its longevity. The graphics on the wii arent an issue with me, I knew it wouldnt have the latest n greatest when I bought it.. what it does have in bucket loads is gameplay.. something most 360 titles I have been playing have lacked. Gears of war got close to excellent graphics and gameplay but it was way to short... whats the point in such a great games but only gives me 4-6 hours gameplay ?

yea i mean i bought canis canem edit and final fantasy dirge of cererbus hoping they'd keep me occupied over xmas but i've completed both so im now thinking on a 360 so me the gf can play co-op on gow which sounds like fun but depends on how quick we complete it

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
Myself and a mate completed GOW on Hardcore setting in two afternoons/evenings. :( very short game.

"be the pwn on the wii" ???? dirge of cerubus was pretty good depending on your mood as some of the vids were quite long,

remake of ff7 on the ps3! i cant put how good this will be into words!
