7 Miles on the Clock

When I got my 172 it had 7 miles on it, 182s arrive with 7 miles, what exactly is going on for those 7 miles?

Could it be that this 7 miles is the where Renault do the "RedLine" run in on your engine for you? Or is it just basic testing?

Mine had 7 miles this morning. Apparently they do a few miles at the docks when they come off the boat (ragging them on their way for bacon sarnies), then your dealer will road test it.

That will be from where they are moved off of ships and to different storage areas.

Sadly though i have a couple of mates who work doing this and yes they do rag the f**k out of em!

Dealer road tests it and puts petrol in it. Mine also came with 7 miles on the clock.

they can reset the odometer anyway so it may have done about 40 miles really

I always found it odd that it was always 7 miles

Of course if they are all taking the same route to the dealers then that makes sense, but surely someone has had a New Clio with more/less than 7 on the clock

no its not illeagal at all they are allowed to do it upto twice i think and not after about 40 miles or so

I thought it was 100 miles? It is on VAG cars. Its also worth noting the mileage on the trip computer as they often only reset the cars speedo/

Checked last night it was actually 12.....dam not in the 7 mile club!!
