A pic of GTHD from the PS3 on my new 42XD1E

  1.8 Civic EX
the whole bottom left had corner of that pic just looks wrong...

the background just looks like an actuall photo of mountains with some 3d rendering in front for the grassey hills, they don't join it just suddenly becomes grey snowy rock...

still, I couldn't do any better so I'll shut up now...just my 2 pence worth

I think the PS3 price is too expensive at the moment. So it has a Blu Ray player, so what? They should have released this as an option in a couple of years when it has some value. £425, plus another controller and a game will be pushing £500.... you could get an XBox 360 Premium with Live subscription, 4 controllers, Gears of War, Project Gotham and Call of Duty, and still have over a ton left over at least.

Not saying its a bad console, just think Sony have got their strategy all wrong this time.

If you do a search I posted some pics at crimbo. Actual in game shots on my Panny plasma.

It does look really good. Motorstorm is pretty impressive. I mainly bought mine for the Blu Ray player and for £375 you cant complaim IMO

Yeh, if you want a Blu Ray player right now it is very reasonably priced, as most are almost £1000 still. But most people don't want one right now as it's such a new technology. It would have been a lot better to have it as an option later on, when more people want one, the technology will be proven (or not!) and it will be cheaper and perform better.

Not to be a cynic as I like Sony, but I sense its just part of their long term strategy to ensure Blu Ray players win the next media format battle. From a business point of view it is effective and quite clever, but from a consumers point of view it is just costing us a lot more than it should have done.

don't agree sorry, i wish HD-DVD had been available properly for the XBOX 360 when it cam eout rather than having to add it on now, why leave it off for a later date when its todays technology, not tomorrows!

Because it means people like me can't afford one? Works as a reason for me. No way can I justify spending that amount on a games console - would be good if I could but too expensive for me.
