About to put down a deposit, what should I look out for?

  Golf 7.5R & Clio 200
About to go and put a deposit on a £4,495 2005 RENAULT Clio 1.5 Dci 86 Dynamique S (New Shape).

Had a look this morning and everything looks good, about to go and test drive and if all is well I'll place my deposit.

Anyone know of any common faults I should be looking out for?

Also, out of interest as it's a DCi, not a TDCi - no Turbo? I already know it will be dirt slow though.

Cheers
Ry

HPI it. Properly. Not via someone on here.

Then check tyres/brakes/suspension/dents/scratches etc. Basic stuff.

It does have a turbo by the way. Renault just chose not to put a t in the name for their diesel engines.

I've driven a dci 86, may years ago mind. At the time I had a 1.2 16v MK2 Clio and found it to be around the same pace both driven flat out. General drive-ability of the 86 was better though as it had more low down torque which makes town driving a lot easier. Same story on the motorway too, had a little more grunt. I'd say its a definite upgrade from a 1.2

Cheers for all the responses :) the fella said I couldn't test drive today -_- to be fair it's right on an A road, and it's rush hour.. But meh.

Next chance I will get is Saturday. Just hoping it's still there! Will cry if not haha

My mum has a Dci 86 Mk3, it has enough power to overtake things, does really good MPG and is very smooth.

Dci 86 is a great car. Dynamique S spec is good too. You will fall off the seats at the first roundabout though, they are horrific.

HPI it properly (via HPI website or experian website)

Check all the body panels are original

Check brakes/tyres/exhaust to make sure you have no expenses so soon after taking delivery of it.
