Thanks for the reply Eckascliovalver much appreciated.

From wt ive been told so far the prob cud be 1 of 3 things
1.Valve
2.Head gasket
3.Piston Rings

I cant see it bein the pistons rings else id be losein power all the time (i thinks) which im not as its a random thing, it can happen when i first startup (but dunt last) or it happens after the cars been runnin for so long which is how it dus it most the time.

Been on the blower to renault and they are askin £1400 + to replace the head gasket :(

Any advice on this matter wud be grateful.

Oil as in around between the lead and the plug or when you remove the plug allover the electrode end?

If its between the plug and the lead your cam carriers leaking (sealant gasket not a real one). Common fault but most people are lucky enough to just have the leak on the outside not near the leads.

Leakdown tests for the win, I had oil in one plug. (ring) Picked up a nearly new 182 engine for 250 quid and can break the old one for parts and make some of the money back hopefully :)

that'd be my diagnosis. On a mk1 i'd say rocker cover gasket. Since F4R doesent have a gasket, then it's the rocker cover sealant.

Not got much experience with the F4R yet

If the oil is near the left plug it could just be spilled when filling / topping up the oil.

Compression check and check the spark plugs when you take them out?

Lack of power could be all sorts of things.

The oil is in the compression chamber so when i take the plug out it is covered in oil(ELECTRODE END).

We dont seem to be burning oil, but i am losin a bit of oil.

If i am to do a compression test wat sort ratio should i be looking for.

Any help appreciated.
