AIR INTAKE, anyone got this one ??

  RS RIP
I've tried the search on "airintake" and found only one hit..

When visiting this site, you can choose a language in left below corner

http://www.renault-sport.com/en/rallye/clio_groupe_n/

There you can choose "spare parts" , then Clio Cup, then "carosserie". When you select the frontbumper in the picture you'll see a pretty nice airintake that replaces one of the front foglights !

I fixed up something similar to this on my Saxo and it really benefitted from the amount of air coming from the front/bumper of the car.

I checked under the hood of my Cup phase 2 yesterday and found out that the end of the tube connected to the filterbox is'nt really getting the max amount of air i think.... somewhere from inside the lower part of the enginebay? No good...

I'm thinking of sacrificing one of the foglights (left) , this part should work very well should'nt it ??

anyone know if it's nescesary to remove the bumper to fit one of these ??

have a look, i'm wondering what you guys think of this.

yep , right you are !

I'm thinking it might also work out quite well as something to get you airbox connected to ?

  Clio 172mk2
could use te passenger side one to air box, but drivers side on a 172/182 wud be a little hard to route it i think , speak to fred or yozz they`ve fitted some before

I'll have to phone the guy who worked on my car, he says he frequently visits Dieppe for parts.

He also said once that it would be pointless for me to try and order there. See what he can do .

a may be wrong but if you remove a fog you car wont pass its mot. just cut a hole in the lower grille and fit a nice anodised bell. thats what am gona do soon as xmas is out the way

Looks a bit poop with one fog 'missing' though

true ... might "blacken" out the other one then, some kind of sticker on there.

The car will get a lot more air in definately, bit of extra poop on the throttle makes up for the poop look :approve:

For the 60euros it's worth a try i think, IF i can get hold of the part, those French are a bit difficile

you only have to have rear fog lights IIRC, hence most of the lower model clios come without front fogs as standard.

The part doesn't exiast though the only way tyo get it is to become a race team and you can then buy from Renault Sport (a different place than Renault)

Yep, got that Edde.
This is the place i was talking about. The guy here is in the Clio Cup racing, i've mailed him and he is going to have a looksee

If this do'nt work, my retired neighbor (also always hobby-ing on his cars) used to build airplanes and he's handydandy with epoxy etc.. If i show him the part and we use the dimensions of the foglight it should'nt be a problem

i will post again when/if anything happens and if it made a difference. If i do'nt, you'll know it was #@$%#%$
