AirBag and Service Light

Hello All

Just wondering if anyone can help??

After recently doing a good deed for someone by jump starting their car from mine... I have found that the airbag and service light have been diplayed on my dash...

I have heard in the past this happening with other models of cars and was wondering how I go about getting these turned off/ reset?

Go to your dealer. Unless the problem rectifies itself, which is unlikely, I think you will have to take it to a Renault garage. Has been caused bya trapped wire under the seat in the past.

It has only happened since jump starting mates car... I dont think it is a sensor as would be a big coincidence..

Is there no way to reset this unless take it to a dealers?

Just dont fancy paying money if can be resolved myself...



What about disconnecting battery?

i slid my passenger seat forward on christmas day to let someone in the back, then when i started the car the serv/airba lights were on. i just put up with it for a couple of days and messed with the seat etc as much as possible and after id given up hope, the next time i started the car the lights went out!

I had this problem - its the seatbelt pretensioner cables under the seats. Your dealer can re-connect them (make sure they do both sides).

wonder is mine actually reconnected then?! oh well, its the passenger seat so i wont worry to much as long as all the lights stay out!

Sorted the prob... Just disconnected battery earth for about half hour and all is fine... apparently after speaking to dealer this is common after jump starting another car... If anyone does this in future recommend disconnecting earth from batter and just using battery to jump!!!
