Sometimes when I lock my ph1 172, the alarm beeps. Other times it doesn't. Anyone know why this might be?

theres a thread somewhere, its beacause you locked the car too quick after turning the ignition off, you need to give it a second or two AFAIK

Give it a few seconds thing is b****cks TBH, mine does it if i lock the car, walk to the house, unlock house then lock from inside the house.

doesn't do it everytime though.

Load of crap.

It's a feature, If you want to turn the interior sensors off on the alarm, turn the ingintion on and off twice, then lock with the key fob. The car beeps, and the alarm is armed without the interior sensors on.

I understand what your saying, but I'm not turning my ignition on and off twice before I leave then lock the car, so does this mean its fooked?

It's not fucked, but if you have say.... just turned the engine off after driving, the ingition has been on, then say you wanted to hear the last thing that was on the radio just then and turn the ignition back on, you've turned it off and on twice. You'll get out and lock the car, and won't have consiously thought about what you've done, but will have noticed the beeping.

....and it's not a problem, it's fine.

This is a Fault with the alarm, it's not a feature and you can't get round it, the alarm and ecu aren't talking to each other properly and the alarm thinks the ignition is still switched on hence it's warning you.
You can take it to renault who will fix it for a huge fee no doubt or do what i'm doing and get a decent alarm fitted for less than renault will charge you for fixing the beep on the crap cobra standard alarm :)

im sure i read somewhere on here that you can reduce the sensitivity of the sensors by 20% or something?

You can indeed. By swapping the interior sensor wires over. My alarm however, still likes to go off even with the interior sensors disconnected
