Now that my little car is being modified, i think its time to get something more than a stoplock, if anything happened to my car id be deverstated. Can anyone give me some advice as to a good alarm/imobaliser that isnt going to cost me a fortune, but will be a good deterant.

It is probably best to pay out more money and get an Alarm such as a Clifford Concept 300, costs about £300 fitted, but could save you money on your car insurance and is a very good alarm system.

iv got a samba cat 2 immobilisor and clifford solaris alarm. immob easy to use just touch it with the little fob and the alarm is great. neva goes off unless tampered with, and if anyone knocks it or similar it will go off! oh and has remote engine start too :)

Remote start would be pretty cool, but im sure that was pricey.. how much for the rest of it? birthday is coming up soon ;)

Yeah i was looking at the MAtrix 2 RS alarm

Is got remote start and that and i think its like £300 (not sure) fitted. But not sure which alarm to go with.

I would say go for the clifford concept 300 coz thats the cheapest clifford offer that is thatcham catagorised & that is between £300-£350 with fitting included.

Although dont know much about the new matrix ones, but the only difference is that it comes with a blue LED instead according to my local ICE Shop

Ive got the clifford concept 500 + all closure & remote start & so I had to get the all closure & remote start modules seperately, & the remote start alone cost me £180!!! but it has 100% novelty value , but unfortunatly, having the remote start cancels out the thatcham catagory one & therefore you wont get a saving on ur insurance :D

Sall about the Clifford Conc 500 like mine.....

Also, dont listen to the money of insurance business...i paid nearly 600 for my alarm i think....or maybe 500 i forgot, and i got a tener off...

Tight Facks...

but also get a disklok or something as equally bright yellow( like a big canairy!) cos thatll help ward off would be car thieves!

Re: Clifford Cooncept 300 + remote start and invalidating thatcham approval.

If the place you get to fit it will give you two separate invoices, one for the alarm and another for the remote start interface kit then you can show the insurance company just the alarm one and that way make a nice saving!!

Also remote head/fog lights is a nice novelty for only £50 too!

lol, and also all closure/smart windows, as well as remote hood & boot.... & the list goes on.... :) hehe but good idea about the certifcates mate! ive got two too, awesome :D
