Hi

Thewheelspecialist are probably the best in the midlands.
I have used a company called city powder coating, Finish isn't quite as good as the other one but they only charge £80!

Sweeny and Sherlock are cheaper than above also Rimstock do it and smart care tipton baffle thou mate they will reduce the prices;)

Wouldn't even entertain a place doing it for £80 a set, they're clearly not doing them properly, scammers.

Citypowdercoating, The job was good, My wheels were ruined when i took them in, I nearly binned them, I have sold them just for £500. They are powdercoated.

There's no way a place can make a reasonable profit doing it for £20 a wheel, when you think they have to pay for their unit, materials, tools, staff labour and other rates as well. They're cutting corners somewhere, fact.

Top Marques in Stoke seem to be quite popular. Whenever I drive past their place it always has the likes of top end BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's, Range Rovers etc parked up out side. If you live within driving distance they even do a one day service. Prices seem reasonable too.

If you need any more persuasion they have a pic of a 172 up on the ramp on their home page.

You get what you pay for.

LOL @ £80 a set.

£40-50 for a 15/16" wheel is about right, for powdercoating anyway. No point getting them painted IMO.

CAS Coatings in Bradford charge £1 per inch so £64 for the Clio!!
As far as I know they've been going years and seem to do all right. They do a fine job of it too:approve:.

If you have facilities to dip and then powdercoat / paint fast I'm sure money could still be made. I guess work is better than no work, even if it just costs wages

£40 a wheel at sj autos in stourbridge.
Theres a chap there learning his mechanics trade. He does quite a few refurbs and resprays in his spare time and hes really good.

Its cash in hand so he doesnt need to charge alot
