alpine headunit / ipod

my alpine headunit is ipod ready... i found this wire in my house

could i use this instead of the ipod wire which is missing?

Those could go from an ipod headphone jack the back of the HU depending upon its connections, but you will have no control over the iPod through the HU, a proper iPod lead plugs into the botton of the ipod and interfaces with it.

All of the above depending upon what headunit you have and what kind of iPod connectivity it offers.
