Thanks Spoonie that makes things a bit clearer but I will ask the question here anyway.

I run a website which is called 'Cholsey Taekwon-Do' (www.cholseytkd.com)

On google, if you search for Cholsey TKD or Cholsey Taekwon-Do I come top of the rankings. I am trying to get my page to come top when you type in 'Cholsey'. I don't think this is impossible as its a small village with no real interest etc.
Just looking for ways to get it top. I have already got META Tags on the site etc.

do about 500 searches a day and you will go to the top f the list.Imagine if you lived in central london,how many searches would you have to do to get top then ...lol

You can pay to be a sponsored link at the top of the results. Think it works on a bidding system but for somewhere not v popular for searches it could be as little as 3p per click.

if its a small village with not alot going on, then you should be able to make the site come up tops when u search for that one word. as there wont be much going on on google for the village apart from your website

get it linked up to loads of other sites too and refine your keywords if you have any.

Yeah I made the site. Its a bit basic but it will do the job.

you need plenty of incoming links to your url, good h tags, good meta, well structured code
