Anyone use GNS3?

Just started using this as to help me with my computer networking degree.

I think it is really good and i love the way i can telnet into routers as if they are really there and i can launch CCP from any computer in my house.

I am having a slight issue where i keep losing conection to a Pagent router which i am using to send traffic around the network, I cant even delete the router or remove the links meaning i have to restart GNS losing my running config for the pagent router.

Anyone know what i can do to fix this?

I use it, although i preferred packet tracer as it was a lot less intensive, plus ive not done much "practical" work since passing the ccna about 2 years ago.

Cant you export the config file, or show run config and copy paste from whatever it is youre using to issue commands? That way you can easily reload the config next time you create the router. Surely you could just disable the sending interface rather than deleting the router if you wanted.

I assume youre not using the gui and using the cli.

A pagnet router, is a router that requires a key that is locked to the hardware/IOS, it is used for traffic generation.

The issue is the router completely crashes, i cant disable the interface, delete the links or anything.

Yeah copying and pasting the running config is what i have to do but it is a nightmare as i have no idea when the router is going to crash, i could just write the config myself in notepad i guess.
