Anything to worry about

  Ziel Nurburgring

Morning all, yesterday i took my car out for a blast round the back roads for the first time. After about 4/5 miles, the ABS light came on and STOP on the dash. So, i pull over thinking the worst, turned the engine off and left it for two minutes and turned the it back on and the lights went off and all back to normal.

Is it worth taking it in, or just a one off? I did have the Passenger side rub on the car at low walking pace. Any ideas??

Mine did this the other day. I took it in to get the fault code read, they stripped the ABS system, but found nothing. The car we test drove also did this, both times it reset when the car was switched off then straight back on. I think its just a glitch, if it happens often though Id take it in.

I cornered mine really hard a few weeks ago, so hard in fact it cocked the inside rear. I had exactly the same thing happen. Plus the dam ESP was trying to spoil my fun. Must remember to switch that off when playing.

If the abs warning light came on then there will be a stored fault in the abs computer that the dealer can check and repair.i dont think that low brake fluid would illuminate the abs light.that would probably just put the STOP and/or SERVICE and the HANDBRAKE lights on.have a look in your vehicle handbook to check what combination of lights means what.

Would be funny if the handbrake light came on and you took it as a command like the STOP light. Go into renault with a smashed up clio. "But your car told me too!"
