Audio drivers?

  BMW E46 330i Touring
I've just formatted my hard drive abd reinstalled Windows and all the essential programs to get it running better, as I do every so often..

... but my speakers aren't playing any sound and I imagine it's because the drivers aren't installed. How do I go about finding what drivers I need? Is it down to the motherboard I use, etc? I don't have a separate sound card at the mo.

It will be onboard sound then, try updating the mobo as you mentioned. Have a look in device manager and check there are no conflicts

ushally motherboards come with a cd, if you have that load the audio software from that.
if not use a program called CPU-Z to find out what your mobo is, then goto site and download appropriate drivers.

Think I'm all sorted, cheers guys.

Found out what mobo it is and have gone to their website and found what I think are the right audio drivers. I now recall having to do this when I first bought the PC, so know I'm on the right track!
